Everyone in possession of teeth should see a dentist twice a year.
Prevention is cheap, compared to the alternative.
When there, talk to the dentist about a cpap prescription.
Download the form provided by cpap.com, and beg him to fill it in.

It started making strange noises recently. I am worried it might be breaking down. This was when I discovered I need a prescription to buy from online vendors like CPAP.com.
I know someone who might be able to help. Which model machine are you using? Which exact model do you want to purchase? (Model selection can be important.)

I cannot speak to the prescription issue, but Easybreathe is a great company to work with. I bought my new machine from them, and they were wonderfully helpful and kind. I spoke with Terrence several times, and he spent a lot of time helping me and offering good advice.

I'm going to ask my PCP is they are willing to write the RX. Thank you so much!
fwiw - I have had 5 in lab sleep studies thru the years at diff labs each ordered by a diff doc. Not once has one doc or lab mentioned pausing my cpap use before a study.
I seem to recall some years back that cpap.com would work with a primary doc to get the right format for the equipment order which I thought was nice. It seems what is needed is diff from what most docs are used to.

A few years ago, I downloaded and printed the blank prescription from cpap.com.
My doctor was happy to fill it out; as I explained that I wanted to buy a BACKUP machine.

If you need a CPAP ever, the chances are that you'll need it for the rest of your life. That is, unless you opt for surgery or a different treatment.
However, the exact pressure can change with age, loss or gain of weight, or change of medication.
