I gave up on the nasal pillows. It was destroying my throat and it wasn’t helping with the dry eye issue. Investigation is ongoing at this time, but thank you!

- There's no CO (cabon monoxide) in our breathing system - only CO2 (carbon dioxide)
- We use CPAP's because when our airway collapses we don't have enough oxygen, and that wakes us up. We fall asleep again when our airway opens. Many time a night
- Suppose your lips are taped and your CPAP stops working.
Won't your natural "waking up because I'm choking" response happen just the same?
- The problem with CO -which is produced by faulty heating systems for example, is that it binds to the hemoglobin in your blood, and keeps it from using transporting oxygen - very very bad, and deadly. Not so CO2.
CO is a poison.
CO2 is not.

When I don't use a full face mask, I tape my lips.

I agree 100% with JIFINKELS comment, (Have you tried a soft cervical collar? I tried chin straps and tape but didn't like either. The soft collar did the trick for me.). I tried mouth tape, at least 4 different chin straps and none seemed to work for me. I saw someone on this forum mention the cervical collar and ordered from Amazon for less than $10. Best $10 I have spent, no more waking up with dry mouth and creases in my head from the strap.
