Having ordered a Remstar Auto with
Cflex and Humidfier and
Encore Pro and Smartcard reader on 9 March I am presently tracking its delivery via UPS International. I feel like a young kid tracking Santa's progress on Christmas Eve. As I have today agreed to, and in fact paid, assessed customs duty and related fees and charges, the package is about to board a plane from Ontario International Airport in California bound for Oz. I have been advised it should be home delivered to me later this week.
Consequently I am more than a little bit interested in this string to which I will contribute later in the week when I have, hopefully setup the unit and installed the software.
Given US crosses a number of timezones from East to West, I cannot believe this problem has not been addressed and am hoping the answer lies in the instructions provided to
DME's and Homecare Providers for setting up the machines and/or the software in different timezones, or initialising the Smartcard rather than the Users Manual or controls immideiately apparent to end users.

Are you actually going into smart card utilities and doing setup, or just erasing the data?

I called
Respironics and they told me to send the machine in for them to reset the clock They can only do this themselves by special software. I wished
CPAP.com would check this before sending the machine. Oh well. On another note, there are couple of utilities under:
C:\Program Files\Respironics\Encore Pro\Utilities\
The readme.tx file describes them as:
Don't erase data after download.reg:
Sets a registry value, which prevents
Encore Pro from automaticallly erasing the data off of the device or Smart Card, which was just downloaded.
Erase data after download.reg:
Clears the registry value, which prevented
Encore Pro from automatically erasing the data off of the device or Smart Card, which was just downloaded.
Thank you all for the brain storm.

Now I am really worried. Does this mean the machine I have ordered from
Cpap.com, that is currently being delivered to me in Australia, is set for "texas time" and that all machines purchased from them are similarly so factory set, regardless of the purchasers timezone?

Davidmcc, hasn't been a problem for me. I'm in England and got my remstar auto from
cpap.com too. I've had no trouble with the time, it shows the correct time and I don't remember having to make any adjustments to it.

There is no need to worry, Davidmcc. To summarize this lengthy thread:
1) The RemStar Auto maintains its own "relative" real time clock that is internal to the machine
2) That internal clock cannot be easily set or reset
3) The
Encore Pro reports rely on the RemStar's internal "relative" clock
in conjunction with your PC's time zone (Austrailia in your case) to print the correct time stamps on your overnight reports
4) An incorrectly set internal clock on the Remstar Auto is probably as unlikely as just about any other manufacturer defect---not enough to justify worry
As long as your own PC's time zone is set to Australia's time zone, you should be good to go, Davidmcc!

I think that's a fairly complete summary SWS. The only thing that puzzles me is how/when
Encore Pro determines the time zone on your PC ? Changing the time zone on the PC does not change the display time on
Encore Pro automatically. I wonder if it remembers the time zone once during the installation and that's it.

Thanks for your reassuring posts Littlebaddow and SWS. My package has just arrived and I will be setting the system up in the tomorrow morning. I have a bit of "manual reading" to do tonight and have also printed out Derek's review of
Encore Pro, which will prove most useful, being a virtual manual written by a user. Will let you know how it went, when I have it all properly operating .
