Abnormal data in venting and respiratory rate

Post by BatmanMatt » Tue Jan 25, 2022 7:13 am

Having an amazing time with the Bleep mask except for a small drop of water every morning that tickles my nose. Anyways, I looked at my data last night and saw something new and wanted to find out what it was. You can see below. In my wiki research I have no idea what to make of it and it's probably nothing. You can see it on the far right for last night.

I went on a run for the first time in a month or two yesterday which might explain it.

Did you upgrade to OSCAR 1.3.1?

I did and got a similar "abnormality" last night.

I *believe* it's because of how OSCAR collects data. In 1.3.0*, OSCAR immediately started collecting data when the device came on, the various metrics don't all start up at the same time. Therefore, almost always many of them will have a value of 0.

A 0 value for Minute Vent, Tidal Volume, Respiratory Rate, is kind of a silly metric. The development team delayed the data gathering of some of the metrics (for statistics) until those metrics have come up to speed.

Last night and likely future statistics are the more meaningful values.

This is document in the OSCAR changelog, perhaps BlueDragon and verify.

...
[*][fix] Skip first 10 seconds of pressure data for ResMed grapths and statistics.
...
*corrected version number in how older OSCAR collected data.

It was 1.3.0 that has that problem. 1.3.1 fixes it.

After installing 1.3.1, purge the current day and re-import. The problem should be solved. Let me know if it isn't.

I butchered my description. I meant to say 1.3.0.

Thanks for clarifying.

I uploaded this data today and updated Oscar yesterday. Should I still delete and re-import? Thanks for your work it’s benefited me greatly.

The easiest way is to just to rebuild the data. First, make a backup "just in case".

Then, in OSCAR, select Data > Rebuild CPAP Data > your machine

That should take care of the problem. Let me know if it doesn't.
