Maybe since the waterer bottle doesn't have any way for pressure to escape, it acts in concert under the pressure of the main tank.

I drilled a 3/8" hole in the top of the Resmed Aircurve tank with a step drill bit to facilitate the rubber plug. I use a small funnel to add water.
