Sore beneath my nose getting worse

Hello,
I have struggled with a nasty pressure sore directly beneath the middle of my hose where the DreamWear Beneath the Nose Nasal Mask rests. I've tried other masks but this one works best for me. I've tried possible solutions offered by members of this forum, including applying lanolin cream and a cotton ball before putting the mask on. But nothing seems to work.
I've been told to allow the sore to heal by using a different mask. But everything else including full face creates a sore on the bridge of my nose that takes days to calm down!
I'm reaching out to see if there are any other solutions?
Also wondering about the Bleep mask. It's hard to tell from viewing the online photos - does the bottom rub against the space beneath the nose?
Thanks for any help you can offer!
Susan

No...the Bleep when properly fitted/attached doesn't really touch the skin of the nose or upper lip area or the area in between.
About the only way it would ever touch the skin is if a person lays on the mask pushing it into the bed pillow with face on top. I have done it a few times when I bury my face in the pillow and I am on my stomach.
Have you tried the similar mask made by ResMed??? Maybe its silicone won't be so hard on your skin.
I don't know where you are getting your masks but cpap.com offers free return insurance with all their masks...if you hate it..you can send it back (be sure and read the details regarding sending back) and get a refund.

I started out with a Resmed nasal pillow, and got sores and pimples under my nostrils. I then tried the Nuance Pro nasal pillow mask. The Nuance Pro was much softer and "squishier", much better for me. I also added RemZzz's liners for nasal masks. They are thin cotton knit, like T-shirt material. They make a soft barrier between the mask and your skin. They are GREAT! No more sores or even red skin!
I do not know if anyone makes mask liners for your specific mask. You can check the RemZZZs and Pad-a-Cheek websites and see.
I hope you find a solution. Nose sores with a CPAP are miserable.
Best,
Robin

Band-Aid Brand makes "hydroseal blister bandages" for toes, fingers, heels, etc.. I think that the toe size would be the right size to put over the sore to protect it from the nasal cradle. I have used those successfully on a nose sore. Let the sore get exposed to the air during the day.

Thanks so much! I tried the Air Fit F30i mask last night and it didn't aggravate the nose sore. However, it leaked a lot and I kept waking up with a more than usual dry mouth. I suppose that was because of the increased leaking?
Thanks, Pugsy, for the info about Bleep. My doctor is ordering one for me. Question: it seems like fitting is key to using the Bleep, so is there someone/someplace I can go to for help with that?
Don't know what to do without my forum friends!
And yes, nose sores really hurt!!!

Stuart has a bunch of videos at the Bleep website...you might go there first.
And of course if you still have problems you can contact Stuart directly. Send him an email with your problem and phone number and he will call you....maybe set up a video call if he needs to see something or show you something.
https://bleepsleep.com/videos/
https://bleepsleep.com/instructions/
If you go to one of those links in the upper right corner there is the "where to buy" link and just to the right of the "where to buy" you will see 3 little lines...click on those 3 little lines and you will see various other options/links to other information.
IMHO the most difficult part to using the Bleep is getting the little ports that you glue to your nose attached completely to the mask frame/hose. That part does take some practice. Seems to be where most leak problems occur.
Make sure the skin on your nose where the adhesive is going to touch is free from any oil. Oil will kill the sticking power of the adhesive. Don't cheat...do the full cleaning...soap and water and then alcohol or whatever oil remover you want to try. The only time I have had adhesive failure is when I take short cuts with the skin prep because I can be lazy at bedtime.

I keep a sleepweaver elan nasal mask to use in case my nose flares up.
The soft fabric masks from sleepweaver almost feel like nothing at all.
