Possible Oscar Technical Issue
Possible Oscar Technical Issue
Just wondering if anyone else is having problems with Oscar today? I've been using it to get data from my Devilbiss/Intellipap 2 machine without any difficulties since 8 October, but I can't get it to read any data from the SD card for last night. The "Quick View" menu is showing the data (albeit very limited), but I've tried to download the data several times and Oscar only shows data up to and including the 28th. It might just be the card though. I'll try clearing it and have another go tomorrow.

You might try purging the date in question in the OSCAR software and downloading again.

Re: Possible Oscar Technical Issue
OSCAR's DeVilbiss loader still writes a lot of diagnostic messages to the debug log. Use Help > Troubleshooting > Create ZIP of diagnostic logs and upload the zip file to my Dropbox folder. Please include your forum name in the zip file name so we know who the file is from. I'll look at it and see if there are any clues there,

Re: Possible Oscar Technical Issue
Thanks everyone, but the problem seems to be resolved. Just downloaded last night and the previous night's data too without any problems. I think someone told me on another thread "false flags" that he/she going to tweak the software a little to see if the flagged events from the Devilbiss machine would appear closer to the actual ones (a bit of a time lag on Oscar). It's not really a problem though and I'm just glad it's working again.

The problem is back again. Failed to upload last night's data. It might or might not catch up with the backlog tomorrow. I tried deleting all the data on the card again, but it still didn't work. If it doesn't, I guess I'm done here, unless one of the technical people here fixes it (I've sent a pm).

Re: Possible Oscar Technical Issue
Please upload the logs as I described earlier. That should tell me whether the failure to upload is because the machine didn't write the data yet or whether it is a problem in OSCAR.

I think I've just managed to create that file. Will put it in your drop box now.BlueDragon wrote: ↑Fri Dec 03, 2021 1:37 pmPlease upload the logs as I described earlier. Re: Possible Oscar Technical Issue
Thanks for the debug logs. I see what is happening.
Your machine writes a summary record for each session. It also writes detailed data for a session it has not yet written the session summary record for. The OSCAR import relies on the summary records to define sessions and ignores data for which no session summary record is found.
What appears to happen is that the summary record is not written immediately. I don't know exactly when the machine writes the summary record. The data for last night should show up tomorrow morning when you import the next night's data. If it doesn't, then we have a different problem.
I can see two ways to address this problem: changes to OSCAR and a workaround for you.
It would be possible for OSCAR to create a "dummy" summary record for the extra data, and then clean up that record the next day when the real summary record was written. However, that is more complex code and database and has a higher probability of error.
I'd like you to try a workaround. When you are done sleeping in the morning and turn off the machine, turn it back on for a few minutes to create a new summary record and get the previous one written. If this works, or doesn't, let me know.

Re: Possible Oscar Technical Issue
I tried what you suggested and it didn't work. But, at least I got full data for the night of 2 Dec, albeit 24 hours later. Still nothing for last night. But if it consistently shows up 24 hours later, then I can manage with that. I have issues with my machine anyway (has started doing some strange things such as occasionally turning the humidifier on during the night and/or increasing the level to the max), so may be changing it soon. I'm lucky it's a rental contract. Thanks for your time, and no worries, I'll make do for the moment.BlueDragon wrote: ↑Fri Dec 03, 2021 5:16 pmThanks for the debug logs. I see what is happening.
