Resmed 10 failure

Post by fredsr55 » Sat Nov 20, 2021 8:59 pm

Two points I had a Resmed 10 that began making very loud motor noise while running. I took it back to my provider for service . They sent it in to manufacture service center I was told. I the intern I was diagnosed with lung cancer. I should note I have never smoked. Origin of cancer is undefined at this time. After an extensive amount of time I inquired on status of my machine. The reply i received was "Your machine was lost in shipping!" I am concerned about the likely hood of the failure of said machine, the unknown origin of cancer, the fact I had used the machine in question foe years, and the mysterious :?: disappearance of said machine. Has anyone else had a similar experience?

Fred, you will have to be pushy about getting the provider to replace the lost machine. All best wishes for that and for successful treatment of your cancer.

Insist on an immediate replacement of your "lost" cpap.
Take control.
Cancer treatment is light years ahead of where it was a mere ten years ago.
Lung cancer rarely has only one cause--and different factors over a lifetime can
bring it on.--Most of these things we will never know.
Nobody knows where my cancer came from--either time.
We just concentrate on fighting it.
Good luck.

But don't drive yourself mad thinking the machine caused your trouble - they've been blamed for very many others as well but nothing has ever been shown to have caused illness. It would be tempting to find a cause there, but I don't think you will... just concentrate on getting better. If things could be blamed on a little machine blowing a little air - and that's all that happens - it would have been shown and known long ago, and no one would be using the machines. Yes, yours may have been 'lost' on purpose but not because they knew anything bad, just because a lawyer probably told them to lose it and avoid trouble, but that would be pointless too. Cpaps have been around a long time and if any of the millions who've used it by now could have ever shown (along with all the scientists) that it even might cause cancer or anything else, it would be a very old story by now. Millions also get cancer every day around the world with no cause found, cpap or not.

Were exposed to any significant amount of second-hand smoke? Just curious.

Good luck with your treatment.

Hoping the DME provides a machine immediately!
