Has anyone received a DS2 replacement yet from Phillips respironics?

Post by DaveS_ » Tue Nov 16, 2021 10:49 pm

Was just wondering if anybody had received a replacement DS2 from Philips respironics yet. I registered mine way back in mid june, got an email confirming it, but I have not heard anything since.

Mine came October 13, 2021. I was not contacted, it just "showed up."

Additionally, it was not set to my prescription, it was set to some general setting; 4cmH20 to 20cmH20.

Fortunately, I was able to find out how to set it properly.

Have received 2, one for DS 1 and one for my 60 series System One. What a pile of garbage and my DME ordered me DS2 filters for supplies this month and are not in stock

Hey there D.H., curious.....was your old machine registered with DreamMapper? My DS1 was registered and when I powered up the DS2 the old DS1 settings were uploaded via the cellular modem connection to the DS2. Whoever is responsible for the cellular connection also had made the serial number change in DreamMapper to reflect the new DS2.

It does appear that they did something along these lines. I was using the DS1 with DreamMapper, and somehow, it's recognizing the DS2 now. I really didn't think that it took anything more than logging on to the same DreamMapper account and bluetoothing to the DS2.

I'm quite disappointed that I can't use OSCAR though.

When my new machine arrived I looked at the settings and thought it was off, so I started fiddling with it trying to match it to my old settings, still didn't get it right called DME and they somehow reset it properly remotely, I only had to make sure it was plugged in. Also experienced the issue with filters even had the CSR at my DME supplier tell me I didn't need the disposable filter I could just use the reusable filter for 6 months without it. I totally ignored that suggestion and went on cheapcpapsupplies.com and was able to order the disposable and the reusable at a very good price.

I happen to browse through the manual for my new DS2 and it sort of suggests the 'Ultra-fine filter' is optional depending on the degree of filtration wanted. The DS1 manual stated the same. I had always changed the replaceable filter monthly, but I may rethink that since I have an air 'purifier' in the bedroom which captures a good bit.

"Installing/replacing the air filters
Caution: A properly installed, undamaged Philips Respironics reusable pollen filter is required for proper operation.
The device uses a grey reusable pollen filter that can be rinsed and a blue disposable ultra-fine filter. The reusable filter screens out normal household dust and pollens, while the ultra-fine filter provides more complete filtration of very fine particles. The reusable filter must be in place at all times when the device is operating. The ultra-fine filter is recommended for people who are sensitive to tobacco smoke or other small particles.
The grey reusable filter is supplied with the device. A disposable blue ultra-fine filter may also be included. If a filter is not installed when you receive your device, you must at least install the reusable filter before using the device."
