hi, barebones!

here in your other thread-

https://www.cpaptalk.com/viewtopic/t181 ... apnea.html

there is talk of how not every sleep problem is fixable with cpap. have you continued to explore the other things mentioned there?

as to the chart you've posted it looks like you'll want to increase your minimum pressure again. see how your pressure line goes well up from your setting of 12.2 and hardly ever comes back down? that indicates to me that you should start with your minimum pressure higher so that you have a fighting chance. maybe set that minimum to 13 and see how she goes.

now let's see what other members have to say.

good luck!

Looks to me like you're getting a decent night's sleep with very low AHI. Not sure what you're trying to fix?

From OSCAR charts, you can only tell that "they are getting a decent night's breathing". Sleep is a different matter.

from his post-

so, maybe he'd like the fatigue gone?

On the other hand, if you look at things like the Tidal Volume and Minute Ventilation line charts and see periods of stable, regular breathing, you can get a good idea of which periods are of sleep.

Thanks so much for the reply.
I was just trying to keep my post short and sweet hence why i didn't elaborate too much.. Yes i am now exploring every possible avenue around OSA and have become somewhat of an
advocate for spreading the about OSA and other sleeping disorders. your right about the minimum pressure and that is exactly what myself and my cpap specialist have been working on , and that is what i was after from you wonderful people here is another opinion. the fact you spotted that is validation to me.....the problem i had at pressure 13 was i swallowing air, im still learning to nose breath so i think that is the main cause. my plan is to slowly increase the pressure...so thank you. in regards to

I Still fil bloody awful!!! daytime sleepiness, fatigue, headaches, brain fog are still a big part of my life. but they are not that debilitating as they once were. yes i have a low AHI but AHI'S affect everyone differently and should not always be looked at as the silver bullet. So to me its no excuse to stop looking for ways to improve even better, and better and better.. Im 29 , im too young to just take CPAP as the end ...i will continue to look for information into my anatomy in order to find what is causing my night time breathing disorder. educating others along the way.. in the meantime CPAP is the BEST OSA management tool so getting it running correctly for my body is key.

Thanks anyone who has taken the time to reply.
we need to keep spreading the word about sleeping disorders and breaking stereotypes.
lets do it.

oh!this was MY problem exactly! and did like you, s-l-o-w-l-y increased that minimum until my aerophagia went away.

i wish i could tell you that it's going to happen quickly, but it was a slow months long process for me, though well worth it.

here's hoping it's much easier for you.

really? well thats good to hear . i wasn't sure what to do ...i knew increased pressure would help my apneas , but i also had a worst night sleep when i swallowed air....
i didnt know what i could do... so hearing your story is reassuring. Have you had a septoplasty procedure done?
What i find interesting is my pressures were higher prior to surgery and (from memory) i never swallowed air. Certainly not to the point of severe discomfort like i have experienced recently post surgery.. although as you said it doesn't seem to happen if i slowly increase my pressure over a matter of days/weeks

How did you sleep last night?
How do you feel today?

If you slept well, feel good and no aerophagia...I would leave well enough alone and keep these settings and not worry about increasing the minimum.

What position did you start out the night in?
I am wondering if the time with the increases are maybe supine sleeping...that 20:30 to 22:30 time frame?
The second and third sleep sessions don't really have any increases at all.

as pugsy likes to say, anything that interferes with sleep is unwanted. and boy having a tummy feeling like a football certainly interfered with mine!

no haven't had any surgery done to me save for dental and that's been removal of teeth.

cant remember what position i was in but i always try to sleep on my left side. Last night was an interrupted sleep i was up and down a few times...
its been a year since being diagnosed and what ive noticed about my personal body is im super sensitive to the slightest increase in AHI.so i PHYSICALLY and MENTALLY notice
symptoms the next day that correlate with an increase in the night before AHI. i can have an AHI of 1.5 and feel pretty good and a lot happier during the day. An AHI increase as little as 2.5 - 3 and my whole world is crashing down. This morning as i write this i have a pounding headache. and my last night data is alot different to previous days with slightly higher ahi.. Although it is Friday today maybe im just extra fatigued from a busy work week???? :?

its been very hard to wrap my head around because all my data shows that i am doing the right thing.
i have another sleep study next month , perhaps that will arm me with more accurate data.
