Mask type suggestions needed
Hello! I have CSA and I'm on a BIPAP machine. The mask I currently use is an F&P Vitera full face mask. I'm experiencing a high leak rate. I'm a back sleeper. My doctor is reducing the pressure a bit. I've been having issues with wearing the mask all night. I almost feel claustrophobic. I can't use the nose mask due to a deviated septum. I hear there is a slimmer mask. Any suggestions? Thank you!

I'm surprised that you have a leak problem with the Vitera. I find it very comfortable and completely leak free....of course all faces are different.

BTW it appears that the only operation really recommended on this board is that correcting a deviated septum.
There are hybrid masks that have smaller amount of sealing area so hopefully less leaks.
Yes, they have pillows but you would be breathing through your mouth.
There are also the Amara, DreamWear FM, the F30 and the F30i if your leaks are primarily around the bridge area.
Edit: added Amara and deviated septum comment

Until you acquire a different mask model, you might try watching three or four videos on fitting and adjusting your Vitera - https://www.youtube.com/results?search_ ... +cpap+masknigelpeppersass wrote: ↑Thu Nov 11, 2021 4:33 pmHello! As far as a slimmer model mask, I recommend looking at the Respironics Amara View, the Respironics DreamWear FFM, and the ResMed AirFit F30i. I no longer recommend the ResMed Liberty or the Innomed Hybrid. These two need updates - they are a bit heavy and have bulkier headgear.
You can view photos, specifications, ratings and reviews of all these masks at the forum sponsor's website - cpap.com.
Re: Mask type suggestions needed
Full face masks are always challenging leak-wise because there's so much surface area that must seal.
If that mask is otherwise working well for you have you:
Tried a mask liner?
Used the "mask fit" feature to make sure the seal will hold at the highest pressures?
