Yup, mine do too.

Yes, they can. but all you need to do is wipe the oils off with a baby wipe, or an alcohol pad, or a dab of hand sanitizer on a kleenex (I used that last for years, removes the facial oils nicely.)
So how often do you wash your hoses? I currently do it weekly.

Here we go again. Many of us use a hose for years without cleaning it.
Asking this question is a quick way to get a thread locked. This has been going on for years.

Do you think the nasal pillows and parts which have direct contact with the face need washed daily? I assumed the skin oils would degrade the silicone without washing.
I wipe the parts of the mask that touch the face with alcohol swabs as soon as I take the mask off in the morning. Alcohol swabs ---->

The question itself isn't the problem causing threads to get locked.
It's all the in fighting and derailing of threads and people's refusal to STFU after I asked them to...that ends up causing a thread to get locked.

Right about never, I've been using the same hose for the last six years, and haven't ever done anything silly like washing it, that's part of why it's lasted 6 years.

You are going to get yourself killed by the deadly, drug-resistant bacteria Klebsiella CPAPneumoniae. Hoses should be washed every six hours!

I just thought I'd give an update because I've found something that seemed to work for me, though it's an extreme solution. What I did was get some silicone adhesive and just glued the gasket into the lid. It improved it somewhat and made it useable but eventually it started having the same problem. So I soaked the lid and the upper rim of the reservoir in vinegar, which helped some temporarily. The thing that has helped the most is silicone grease. I've lined the rim of the tank (where the gasket rests when closed) with silicone grease, and the seal is much better. The pressure feels strong and I've noticed that humidifier has more water left in the morning, so clearly less moist air is escaping.
Based on the advice I received here I've also been washing my mask and hose less, and running the mask fit function on the machine once or twice per morning to dry the hose and avoid mildew.
Anyway I thought I'd share the outcome in case anyone was interested.
