Central apnéa settings cpap

Post by Snoosan » Mon Oct 25, 2021 3:00 am

Hi!
I have a resmed airsense 10. I have mostly or only central apnea’s every night. I have trouble to find a good setting for me. Difficult to find info what’s best when you have central.
What do you guys have? Do you use pressure relief ( Epr for resmed) what settings works for you.
I often feel tired during the days. And if I wake up early in the morning and fall asleep again I get a lot of central apne. I can have 5-10 within an hour and some are every minute.
I’m in Sweden.

EPR can exacerbate central apnea, because it causes more ventilation, and thus lower CO2, which is what drives the respiration cycle) the first thing to try is lowering (even to zero) the EPR settings.

Centrals really are only an issue when your SpO2 starts to drop because you're having so many.
