Time zone on Airsense 11

Post by Redstormsju » Mon Oct 18, 2021 3:03 pm

Hello all,

I just downloaded Oscar and uploaded data from my SD card. I will look through the data in detail, however I did notice that the times indicted in the graphs and the times OSCAR indicated my session started and ended last night did not match the actual times I started and ended therapy. I noticed from my Airsense 11 time zone settings that it has the incorrect GMT time zone for my area. I want to correct it, but does anyone have experience with how this will impact the data already in OSCAR?

Thanks!

Try the clinician manual:
https://media.resmed.com/sites/3/202106 ... ER-ENG.pdf
page 20. It says you cant change it once data has been saved
"Setting the time zone
Before the patient is set up, ensure the correct time zone has been set. The time zone cannot be changed
once patient data has been stored on the device. The patient data will need to be erased before changing
the time zone.
The AirSense 11 device is set up with GMT (Greenwich Mean Time) time zone settings.
To change Time Zone:
1. From the Clinical Home screen, tap SETTINGS
2. Move down the menu to find CONFIGURATION options
3. Tap Time Zone
4. Select the relevant GMT setting and tap OK."

Thanks. I have been on therapy since September 8 of this year and started using an SD card last week or so. Is it worth biting the bullet so to speak and follow the steps in the manual to reset the time zone or just deal with the times as is and just focus on the data itself?

Time slept is time slept no matter what the clock time might be showing in the software reports but if you want to know exactly when something happened for some reason then the machine clock needs to be set to your correct time.

Also if you ever sleep past noon (per the machine clock) you might see some split reports because the machine's cut off and reset to a new sleep session/24 hour reporting period is Noon per the machine clock.

Thanks. In this Airsense 11 there isn’t even a clock on any of the screens which is why I didn’t notice the time zone wasn’t set by my equipment provider. I’d change it but now I’m wondering if this machine has built in to change itself automatically when daylight savings time starts and ends. Because if it doesn’t, it may not be worth playing around with the time zones since data seems to need to be erased before changing the time zone. Maybe I’ll give resmed a call and see if they have any technical advice for this.

None of these machines have any way to automatically adjust for DST in the spring or fall.
DST isn't used in all 50 states for one thing and these machines go world wide where DST isn't used.
In the past ResMed machines there was a clock that could be set but no time zone adjustment at all.
There is also a separate "clock drift" setting adjustment in OSCAR

Now you can alter your time zone in OSCAR and fix the problem the backdoor way if you want to.
You would edit your profile to make that adjustment.

If you want to fix it using the clock drift adjustment that is found in Preferences/CPAP tab upper left corner.

This sounds like a much better solution. THANK YOU!
