Philips Dreamstation 2 need help (asap)

Post by s7unned » Wed Oct 13, 2021 7:19 pm

Hello. Straight to the point.
We using DS2 for delivering oxygen to patient. Problem is that it has this "auto on/off" feature on, which making therapy useless because we need constant pressure. How to turn off this feature?
And second question, we didnt have heating tube included, does it mean our DS2 cant heat? Or we can buy this heating tube and it will work? Thx for answers.

Go here and request the clinical/provider manual for the DreamStation 2 model you have.
In it you will find the instructions for how to get to the clinical setup menu area.
In the set up menu area you will find Auto On and Auto Off choices. You can turn them off easily.

The humidifier will still heat the water without a heated hose. So heated humidity is still available without the heated hose.
The heated hose is just for heating the air coming from the machine. Mainly for comfort and prevention of condensation in mask or hose.
A heated hose can be purchased separately though.

Instructions for requesting the manual are about 2/3 down the page. Make sure you follow the directions exactly.

You have to be in the special clinical setup menu to see the Auto On features.
I don't have the manual on this computer and don't use that machine so I don't remember exactly where those choices are in the menu.
I will request another manual for this computer and find the page that explains it.

I suspect if you couldn't find it you weren't in the right menu.

Why is this making therapy useless?

The auto-off won't turn the machine off unless the mask is removed, in which case, the patient won't be getting any oxygen anyway.

Also, oxygen won't work with the heated hose.

Because we need to ensure constant flow for oxygen supply, but it just stops when mask is slightly moved, which easily could happen while sleep. We also cannot let this happen, coz when it suddenly stops, oxygen will fly directly into machine which is dangerous. We did order a pressure valve to fix that, but it will arrive not soon in our country.
So my question is how can i get into care orchestrator?

Orchestrator is a Philips proprietary software that allows remote monitoring and control of CPAP machines. It is not sold to the general public, only to health care professionals.

Are you a health professional? If so, contact Philips. Alternatively get the person who supplied your CPAP (presumably a professional) to make the adjustment for you.

No. Ive already contacted person who supplied our CPAP, waiting for his answer. The problem is that we live in Ukraine and i dont think we can get ofiicial support here. Also, here isnt much other options like buy another cpap, coz there;s no aviable.
Situtation we're in is crap, and i really hope i can turn auto-on/off by myself.
