Help! Muscle Tenseness

Post by PowerGlove » Mon Sep 20, 2021 5:51 am

Hello everyone! New member here. I've been using a CPAP for about 4 months now and I feel immensely better. I went 10 years without a good night sleep until my wife threatened to divorce me unless I got the dang machine. lol. That being said, my experience hasn't been all sunshine and lollipops. I've had extreme anxiety from the mask and also get very bad sinus clogs. I know both are common issues and I've been working through them and haven't been happening too much lately. I do however have one major nightly issue. I wake up and my entire back is tense and it feels like my muscles have all contracted. I usually sleep about 6 hours and wake up and have to sit up and stretch for about an hour. I've tried laying back down and going back to sleep but due to my entire back being in a frenzy, I'm unable to get back sleep. After I stretch I feel find the rest of the day so there's no underlying back issues. Has anyone else experienced something like this or have any insight as to what I can do to try and get some relief. I would love to get a full 8+ hours of sleep one night but have not been able to because of this issue. Thank you all for any help you can provide.

You haven't said if you normally sleep on your back or side or what?

If it were me, I'd ask my doctor for a referral for physical therapy.

Maybe coincidence? Tension from awareness of mask, etc. + old mattress, and/or new workout?

I had that about 3 weeks in-give or take.
It went away.
Now it is the proverbial thorn in my side . . .
