Resmed Airsense 11 Humidifier not working

Post by lindalam89 » Fri Sep 03, 2021 2:15 pm

Hi I got the airsense 11 and the humidifier is not working. I wake up to a full tank and a dry throat. I have had the same problem with their airsense 10 model.

Can someone help me out here? It is on the highest setting. I am assuming the same problem as the airsense 10 model.

Also the Myair app doesnt seem to be uploading my data. It's been several hours and my last/first night is not being shown.

It also appears to not have a SD card, so I am guessing I cant use sleepyhead? It would be really useful if I could upload my data to sleephead. Any ideas how?

edit: Does the climateair tubing for resmed, work on the airsense 11?

What is the ambient humidity in your bedroom? Do you know? If not you need to find out.
Exactly what are your humidity settings???
Heated hose or non heated hose? If heated hose...what temp?

The developers of OSCAR are right now beta testing a new version that should work with the AirSense 11....so be patient.

You should have some data available on the LCD screen sleep report which is essentially what MyAir shows.

The Air 11, does support the use of SD Cards the the reader is on the left side above the AirSense 11 logo.

No, it won't work with SleepyHead, SleepyHead has been abandoned. You should be using OSCAR, SleepyHeads replacement. AirSense 11's OSCAR support is currently in beta test, there's a pinned topic describing.

It takes at least a day for for a new machine registration to show up in My Air.

I have a pretty humid bedroom so maybe thats the reason? I am using a slimline tube no heating. I tried all settings and cant get any of the water from the humidifier container. It only boils when I am not wearing the mask, which is ridiculous.

Does this mean I need a heated hose? If I can recall, the humidifier on my last resmed only worked when I bought a heated hose.

Okay I see now my air app synched only the data after registering. I used my cpap before registering so thats why I couldnt see any data.

No, you can't use sleepyhead since it's a dead product and doesn't support the AS11.

Use Oscar.

put a SD card in the slot.

If your ambient humidity in your bedroom is quite high then the machine may simply not need to add more moisture to the air so it won't need to use much water (if any).

Have you done a brief warm up (15 minutes) and checked to see if the bottom of the water chamber is even warm?
BTW these machines don't ever come close to heating the water to the point if boiling.

Hi Pugsy,

Youre right about it should not be boiling. I think I was observing the air pressure in the humidifier tank, causing what looked like ripples.

I have done the warm up option, yes. It makes the hot plate warm to touch but not hot.

I have noticed this humidifier problem in both of my Resmed machines. I never had a problem with my old Philips Remstar. So I am almost convinced maybe the resmed is suppose to be like that?
It just doesnt make sense to me why my tank is still on the full mark in the morning. The water is warm, but it doesnt seem to have gone anywhere, even on the highest setting (8)

I'm starting to think I would need the humidline air 11 tube, but I don't see that sold anywhere even though it is mentioned in the manual?

Why? the only reason you needed the climateline tube is if you're getting rainout.

It has nothing to do with heated hose or not and everything to do with the ambient humidity.
There is a sensor in the machine that measures the ambient humidity and if it is high enough the machine says to itself
"humidity is already high and I don't need to add more moisture"....so it doesn't use up any water.

Is there no way to turn off the auto sensor? I live in SF where it is cold and only mildly humid. I tried testing it in different rooms and the water does not go down.

75 percent
San Francisco's air is typically damp and sticky with an average humidity of 75 percent as moisture sweeps in from the Pacific Ocean.
There's your answer.

might explain why my humidity is set to 1.

A hygrometer will tell you the humidity wherever you put it.
One can be bought quite cheaply at a discount or hardware store.
