New CPAP clunking noise

Post by ThisIsMyUserName » Sun Aug 29, 2021 5:22 am

I got a new resmed auto airsense 10 autoset a few weeks ago because of the recall. It is awesome, but last night thee was a bizarre clunking repetitive noise that didn't go away when I changed the mask out (t sounded like it was coming from the mask, not the machine, but I was half asleep so who knows). After a few minutes it went away. I've been on cpap for a decade and never heard anything like it. Anyone have any idea what it might be or whether I have to get the machine fixed or something?

A little more info on the mask might help, and whether or not you looked it over to make sure all connections were tight, but as the noise went away on its own, or unless it comes back, I wouldn't worry too much at this point.

You might also doublecheck that the water chamber is seated properly.

I hear a clunking type noise, once or twice when I first start up the machine. Sounds to me like it's the water chamber kind of settling in when the pressure comes up (My minimum is 14 cm).

I know its not uncommon to hear a popping sound when you have water collecting in the hose. Could that be it? Popping?

Thanks for the responses. To answer, I use an airfit P10 (which I have used for about five years on my old PR machines that are now recalled). I swapped out the mask for a brand new one and checked that all the hoses were tight. I didn't check the humidifier seating, so maybe that was it. The clunking lasted for about five minutes before the swapout and five after and then went away. It didn't come back last night.
