OSCAR 1.3.0 Beta: AirSense 11, SleepStyle, DeVilbiss

Post by BlueDragon » Sat Aug 28, 2021 12:06 pm

OSCAR v 1.3.0-Beta2 is here and we need beta testers especially for newly supported machines.

If you have one of the newly supported machines or if you would just like to help beta test the next version of OSCAR, we would like to hear from you.

All beta testing files and support are managed on an OSCAR Beta Test forum on Apneaboard.com. Just join apneaboard and send a PM to Gideon, tell him about your beta test interest, and ask to be added to the beta test forum. We ask that all beta test reports be posted on that forum as the entire team watches it regularly. Reports posted here might get missed. Please PM me if I miss something here.

This version of OSCAR contains support for the following new devices.
. [new] Add preliminary support for ResMed AirSense 11 CPAP machines.
. [new] Add support for Fisher & Paykel SleepStyle CPAP machines.
. [new] Add support for DeVilbiss BLUE (DV6x) CPAP machines.

and in the near future the new Philips Respironics DS2 (we are actively working on it).

Your task is to exercise OSCAR and identify issues that we have missed. Please post what you find.
Be sure to state what version of OSCAR you are using as Beta and pre-release versions can change rapidly.

We do take all issues seriously so as much as possible. To help us,
. Say What you tested
. What went wrong
. How to repeat the results (if you can)
. Post Screenshots for clarity

As always, feel free to post therapy questions in the forum but do state what version you are using.

@BlueDragon: I thought the DS2 was a brick due to Philips locking down the clinician menu? Has there been a change?

"Brick" is too strong a term for the DS2. If the clinician menu is locked, it can be unlocked. If you are referring to the data on the SD card being encrypted, the OSCAR Team is still confident that the encryption problem can be solved.

This is not about the Beta version but I was told to post here after asking on a new thread.

I bought a used Fisher & Paykel Icon+ Auto and when I plug in the SmartStick (flash USB drive) into my laptop and import the data to OSCAR, it shows the current year as 2042 and the data is wrong (0 AHIs, lower leak rates than display, etc. Only correct data is the pressure changes.) There is some data in there from 2012, which I think is when the machine was last used by the previous owner, and it all seems correct. What's going on and how do I fix it?

Here is a screenshot

I have not looked at Icon++ processing, so I'll need to look at your InfoUSB card contents. Can you make a zip of the card contents and upload it to my Dropbox folder? Please include your forum name in the zip file name so we know who the file is from.

Do you have access to F&P's InfoSmart Web site? If you do, what does the date look like there? I wonder if your machine has lost track of the year? Can you set the date on your machine, and is it correct?

I've noticed that with the SleepStyle machine there is no apparent way to change the date (only the time). The machine I have been using for testing is 34 days behind the current day, and I've found no way to reset that date.

Thanks for the quick response. I just uploaded a zip of my card's contents to your Dropbox.

I don't have access to the F&P's InfoSmart Web site. I can only set the time on my machine. I've looked in the manual and couldn't find anything about changing the date... I would be fine with a date error but why is it not recording AHIs and other data either?

I took a quick look at your data and I'm not going to have an immediate response for you. It looks like I may have to do some reverse engineering on your data to figure out what is going on.

My priority right now has to be fixing some issues on the SleepStyle loader for the beta testing cycle we are in.

When I try to read your data into either OSCAR 1.2.0 or the 1.3.0 beta, OSCAR just hangs. I don't know why that is happening, and it doesn't seem to be the same thing happening for you, which is strange.

Are you sure you have sent me the entire contents of the card? I noticed that the file dates in the FPHCARE\ICON\17089316 directory are all 1/12/2007. The higher level directories are all 9/20/2021. So it seems like there's no new data? Or maybe it's been tacked on to the end of existing files. If so, I'll have to do some digging into the files which will take some time.

When I try to import the data into Oscar 1.2 it takes a while for me as well and if I click on it the app gives the Windows Not Responding message.

I think I sent you everything. I clicked on Help > Troubleshooting > Create zip of CPAP card data. I just tried it again and the zip is of the same size as the one I uploaded (19.8 MB).

I am not sure about the dates. Only data I can see in Oscar is from 2011, 2012 and 2042.

Thanks for looking. Take your time.

It appears the date in the machine is bad. Here is a list of sessions found. Notice how the date jumps from 2012 to 2042, and the 2042 dates probably correspond to your use. The month and day are wrong too.

My speculation is that a battery inside the machine died when it wasn't used and the machine's internal clock, and possibly other memory, lost its date setting.

Code: Select all

Icon++ SUM Session ts 1352871426 "11/13/2012 22:37:06"
Icon++ SUM Session ts 1353468084 "11/20/2012 20:21:24"
Icon++ SUM Session ts 1354506494 "12/02/2012 20:48:14"

Change occurs here ===>
Icon++ SUM Session ts 2298983710 "11/07/2042 07:35:10"
Icon++ SUM Session ts 2298985380 "11/07/2042 08:03:00"

I think that, for now, we have to call the Icon+ "unsupported." It's going to take some work to solve the problems. We would probably have to rework the loader, which is rarely an easy or quick job. More people use new machines rather than ones from the past, so supporting new machines helps more CPAP users.

I wonder if the Icon+ firmware might have been updated sometime since 2012? Do you recall seeing any messages about updates on your machine? It looks to me like we might be seeing data, from the same machine, in two different formats.

I didn't see anything about updates on the display or when I plugged in the SmartStick. Would wiping out the data and starting with a blank card help? Is that even possible? I'm a total newb both to CPAP machines and OSCAR
