I just took my first pain pill--rather not wait until I REALLY need it.
Yes, it's better to stay out in front of the pain, and not wait till you're hurting. That's the advice one of my other friends gets from his pain doctor.

They said not to "lift" over 10 pounds, but I took that too literally--
used both hands to push myself up.
Bad idea. Should have just sat there and called for help. Pain teaches--ow.
Put my right arm in a sling for a while--feeling better now.
Noticed that surgery jacks up my blood sugar--this time I have the antidote.
An extra shot of mealtime insulin. Brilliant!
I will share this info with my oncologist.

Thank you, Deborah.
I am feeling much better today.
It is good to have this procedure behind me.

I can see by my incisions that my surgeon is making use of his favorite "toy".
He uses the laser scalpel to make a wavy incision, which he then closes
with surgical adhesive--basically super glue. Nice, clean blendy lines.

The whole superglue you back together (or CAglue as everybody is calling it these days) is really cool, so much better than stitches or staples. nothing to remove, and it heals much nicer.

I remember my surgeon being a total geek about both the adhesive and the laser
six years ago.
Nerds rule!!!

Update: my bruises have begun to appear.
Transparent dressings leave nothing to the imagination.

Tegaderm cool, but expensive.

Same kinda stuff, much cheaper: https://kk.org/cooltools/opsite-flexifi ... rent-film/ great for protecting wounds/cuts/scrapes/etc. cut bandages sized to fit :)

This is a spray-on liquid shield, like the paint-on NuSkin
the bullfrog has been using for many years.
I might try the OpSite for my CGM, but I have loads of K-T tape,
that I use for that, and also to stabilize my patella, when it needs controlling.

Update:
My surgeon's office just called with a summary of the pathology.
I have lymphocyte rich classical Hodgkin's lymphoma "LRCHL".
The internet says it is rare, and one of the most curable, especially early.
Now I wait for my doctor's take on it--next week.
(After my incisions have time to heal.)

I celebrate with reservations--my age (74) may be an issue.
I need to get off my butt more . . .
