Airfit P10 Nostril Irritation After Almost 1 Year :(

I started my Cpap journey last September and I haven't gone more than a night without using it. I have been using the Airfit P10 Air Pillows and have been very happy with them and the chin strap I wear. But about a couple weeks ago I noticed that my nasal pillows were causing nostril irritation. The outer portion of my nostrils and the center portion are red when I wake up. I have been wearing a Medium pillow the whole time and never had any issues. I decided to go a Large pillow and woke up with the same irritated nostrils. They are more comfortable as the Large doesn't go into my nose too far but does leak a bit. What I was wondering is why I would have this issue after going this long without irritation? What can I do to remedy this problem? If there isn't anything I can do I am definitely open to wearing another nasal Cpap mask like the Airfit N30i. It looks like irritation would not be an issue, I assume I would be able to wear my chin strap, and reviews of it seem mostly positive. I prefer breathing through my nose and am not interested in a full face mask.
Thanks for your help!

Maybe try a pillow liner.
Seems easy enough to make with some cotton T-shirt material.

If you have access in your pharmacy, look for Lansinoh cream - it really helps apparently.

Apply the Lansinoh sparingly, as "a little dab'll do ya."

Possibilities:
- headgear is adjusted too tight or too loose
- hose management is poor - hose pulls on mask
- moving around in sleep causing nasal pillows to rub

Anytime I see a negative complaint about something that for a long time didn't have negative complaints it makes me wonder what changed for the negative situation to develop because something changed.
Use of nasal pillows for over a year without an chaffing problem and now develop chaffing....makes me wonder what changed or why it is just now happening.
Chaffing indicates mask moving or rubbing repeatedly against the skin. So why now???
When was the last time you changed headgear? The P10 headgear is notorious for stretching out and allowing mask movement.

I changed my headgear a month ago. Last night I adjusted the top strap of the headgear to go in front of the portion of the chin strap that wraps around the top of the head rather than behind it. Today I woke up with no rash! I think placing the headgear strap in front reduced the pressure of the nasal pillows against my nose. I will purchase the Lanolin too. Sounds like a great product.

This is a great idea. I have some extra t-shirts I can try this with.

I think the headgear was too tight because last night I adjusted it by placing the top strap in front of the head portion of the chin strap as opposed to behind it like I have been doing. That reduced the pressure the nasal pillows were putting on my nostrils. This morning I had no redness. I might try the Lanolin ointment that has been recommended on the board as well.

While the age of the headgear has been mentioned,
I wonder how long you have used the current pillows.
--or how often they have been washed--or with what.
Cleaning products are a common irritant--or soil, if not fully removed.

oh and by the way? while i know your problem is that it was TOO tight, there will come a time when they loosen. if your headbands are of the old school type, you can wash them and dry them and they'll shrink back up a bit.
if they are the "new school" type, well then you have adjustable straps and can ignore the above.

You may instead need the
"rubbery wrap" treatment to avoid them from slipping looser than you want.
