Just a note to say I got my VAuto lightly used from LSAT, and everything went smooth as silk.

Me too, I bought a Resmed autoset 10 from LSAT, he is a gentleman to work with. I would buy from him again with no problem.
Cheers
Nan

I so wish I could photoshop the way you do. Picturing lsat avatar in a used car lot full of pap machines.

I use an aircurve 10 ST-A. Would the Vauto be any good as a backup machine for me? My dr has me on the ivaps but I just have an old regular cpap machine for backup.
I may be getting a new machine from the VA but I think I still need a better machine for backup.
Are the hoses, humidifier etc the same for both machines?

If it is critical that you have a back up rate for breathing (and it sounds like it is) then this VAuto won't work for you.
It doesn't offer any sort of back up rate or any way to force you to breathe which is what the back up rate thing does.
The VAuto is really more like your cpap except it offers a greater difference between inhale and exhale and a couple of minor timing setting functions.....the main thing it is missing is the ability to force you to breathe if you don't breathe on your own because you stop breathing.

Pugsy, yes I have felt the back up rate kick in from time to time. I assume there could be times when it kicks in and I don't realize it either.
Thank you for your reply. I don't have the money to buy my particular machine again for a back up machine.
Will see if I need a replacement machine free from the VA in a couple of weeks. However I still won't have a backup machine because they will reposses the old one.

I have 2 questions.
Does the Aircurve 10 Vauto work as a bipap?
As far as used machines go, is it possible for someone to set back the hours of operation? (I'm old school, and they used to do that to sell a car when I was young - in fact, I got bamboozled bad once)
I hope you won't think these are silly questions.

BiPaps are Respironics trademarked name for BiLevel. Yes, AirCurve VAutos are BiLevel.
This is like me selling a Land Rover and somebody asking if the the Land Rover can function as a Jeep, when the want to know if it is 4×4.
About setting back the run hours.
No, it's not possible. Or if it is, it's not known outside of ResMed.
LSAT has an impeccable reputation.

Thanks, again. I appreciate it.
two things that i'd like to mention and i hope i'm not seen as being condescending or
rude to you.
in his original post, lsat asks for a pm. that is a Private Message. i take it you know how to do that.
thing two and this is where i hope i'm not assuming something here; do you use paypal? i ask, because in his original post, he says he only takes payment through that entity.
i just want to make sure that you know what your end of this transaction is.
again, sorry if i'm coming across as
rude.

No need to apologize. You are trying to help.
Sorry, I gave up on Paypal awhile back because someone tried to use it to rip me off. I had to cancel my account because of security reasons.
I'll keep looking for now. I've seen some good prices, but I can't trust private individuals, sadly.
It looks as though I'll get one with some hours on it at reduced price to use for awhile, because my DME says I will surely get my Redmed Aircurve Vauto bipap in January (when my 5 yrs come to an end). I have the prescription for it.
So, I guess there's no way to get it until then. Maybe I can survive with my old Sys. One P750 until then. My wife is going to give me some old ear plugs to help me cope with the noise.
thanks again.
