Same here, nothing yet.
It's disappointing but not exactly surprising.

I apologize if this has been discussed (it’s hard to do more than skim the crazy number of posts on this thread, many of which are completely off topic).
My question to those of you who have those of you who have submitted claims with Phillips is: have you heard anything back? My son has a Dreamstation which we submitted a claim for, so far it’s been crickets.
Also haven’t gotten anywhere with his doc or worthless DME.
Any suggestions on next steps we can take to get my son’s machine fixed would be greatly appreciated.
I haven't even had an email confirmation that I submitted my serial numbers. Not a good sign.

No email confirmation from Philips for me either, since I went online this past week to enter my data.
My sleep specialist and I had a long talk yesterday about the situation - and he understands my overall health situation. I'm in a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation, so I've chosen for my health to continue using my Dreamstation. If I notice any of the side effects noted by Philips, I'll let my sleep specialist and my primary care physician know what's going on. Even Philips isn't being forthcoming with doctors or DMEs right now.

Just crickets here, too.

I registered my Dreamstation. Talked to my DME. Had 4 enter office emails with my sleep study doctor. Talked to my insurance company, they even called Phillips for me and I talked to them, but they didn't give me anything different then what we have seen in the recall documents. No letters and no emails. I am going to sleep with my brand new ResMed Airsense 10 Autoset tonight. Ordered and received in 4 days. The Dreamstation is going in the closet.

I didn't search to see if this was posted before, but I think it needs watching if you have a Dreamstation....

Maybe this should be a new thread, but I have a System One, in fact I'm on about my third System One. I tried to order an Airsense 10, but it was out of stock, maybe I'll try some other sources.
I dissassembled my old System One, and got to the offending foam, which sits in the bottom. You can reassemble the machine without the foam. The air does not pass through the foam, but it's surface is exposed to the incomming air. The foam does, however, form a seal which prevents air bypassing the filter, if it is removed then unfiltered air will get to the blower. The foam in this old unit did not appear to be in the best shape, the surface looked like it was deteriorating.
This situation is a mess. I have moderate apnea, but i can't sleep without the CPAP after years of treatment. Stopping using my machine is really not an option. The other manufacturers are going to have a good year if they can step up their production rates.

Happened upon this earlier today. Pretty eye opening for sure. Thanks for posting this here.

"Chirp, chirp" - sound of a cricket here, too. Decided to go through my insurance's crazy rental requirements and get an Airsense 10. Getting it started today, and since the DME has a local branch, I hope I can get it today. If and when Philips gets their act together, I'll get my Dreamstation fixed. I have a Z2 travel machine; I was tossing in my head whether to use it full time, but between the lack of humidifier and the software limitations I decided no. (The Z2 is going to be GREAT with the National Parks trip my son and I are going on soon though! It goes 2 nights with the battery I have for it, and the battery takes about 3 hours to get charged in a car.)

Same here as everyone responded.
I got my chest results back, and there appears to be no lung damage.
I pulled out my old 750P system one auto bipap, (after checking to make sure it was not affected) and it's doing a decent job as a backup. (Now I realize its better than my Dreamstation! but who knew?)
I've used it for 8 days now, since I found out about the recall, and my AHI is .86 for that time, so I guess I can't complain. Who knows how long I'll have to use it, because although my Resmed has been ordered by my sleep doc, it may be months because of the scramble of everyone (perhaps in the millions across the globe) to replace Philips. What a shame!

Sorry, I did not take any pictures. There is a video on youtube from the same channel as linked above. It's a little finicky to get apart and back together, but nothing would need to be modified to get the foam out, unlike the dreamstation.

WOW WOW WOW - This is SERIOUS as a Heart Attack and should be watched by every Dreamstation owner...as well as ResMed owners (for informational purposes - if nothing else)!
Here is a link to the Clinical information for physicians that Phillips put out that is discussed in the video --------->
https://www.philips.com/c-dam/b2bhc/mas ... viders.pdf
Maybe the report should have its own sticky...and not be stuck here on page 25 of this thread!
Some key points that were mentioned in the video...
----- ----- ----- ----- ----- ----- ----- ----- ----- ----- ----- ----- -----
Foam Degradation Exposure
• Potential Hazard: Philips has determined from user reports and lab testing that under
certain circumstances the foam may degrade into particles which may enter the device’s
air pathway and be ingested or inhaled by the user of its Continuous Positive Airway
Pressure (CPAP), BiLevel Positive Airway Pressure (BiLevel PAP) and Mechanical
Ventilator devices. The foam degradation may be exacerbated by environmental
conditions of higher temperatures and humidity in certain regions. Unauthorized
cleaning methods such as ozone may accelerate potential degradation.
• The absence of visible particles does not mean that foam breakdown has not already begun.
Lab analysis of the degraded foam reveals the presence of potentially harmful chemicals including:
- Toluene Diamine
- Toluene Diisocyanate
- Diethylene glycol
Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) - e.g. Chemical Emissions from Foam
• Potential Hazard: Lab testing performed for and by Philips has also identified the presence of VOCs which may be emitted from the sound abatement foam component of
affected device(s). VOCs are emitted as gases from the foam included in the CPAP, BiLevel PAP and MV devices and may have short- and long-term adverse health effects
----- ----- ----- ----- ----- ----- ----- ----- ----- ----- ----- ----- -----
I think another KEY point in the video was the indication that this off-gassing of the foam literally starts on DAY 1 of ownership and the Phillips has determined the VOC's are being produced Day 1 as soon as you start using the machine - there is no, "oh, my machine is only two years old" - the machine has been off-gassing to you for TWO years...the foam breakdown is next!
Ok...has anyone heard of Congressional hearings or investigations yet??
I think the CPAP community needs to start talking to their Congress critters...especially those who sit on any panels that oversee the FDA!
I'll BRB when I look that up...but the CPAP community as a whole - INCLUDING ResMed users - as we are impacted too...because now there is going to be a run on ResMed equipment due to this Phillips debacle (is that too kind of word??).
