I have a System One 60 and they said it cannot be replaced or refurbished so offered me $50 for it.
Philips was not going to repair and refurbish older systems one devices as they are over 5 years old and past their normal lifespan.
The option to accept $50 for the system one 560 or $25 for the 550 was a offer that was made but you also had the option to reject that and request a replacement with that of a newer model if you provided a prescription. Philips is no longer requiring the prescription and you can opt for a Auto Cpap set to default values. one caution is if you submit prioritization and have any health issue selected they may return you to waiting for a prescription status because of that health issue.

I have a System One 60 and they said it cannot be replaced or refurbished so offered me $50 for it.Seems like they are picking and choosing who to scam? In January 9, 2021 I let my wife use it one night cause she had Covid pneumonia and was hospitalized from Sunday to Wednesday the 13 and came out with an oxygen tank and a home oxygen concentrator that she only used for one week. Her resting oxygen level was 82 laying in bed. It was my back up cause I already had my Air sense 10 and had almost given it to my niece but gave her my old Resmed 9. Just going to keep waiting to see what happens or might just take that foam out later.
I recently received a new DreamStation2 as a replacement for my System One 60; no prescription needed. I also have an email from them related to my System One 50 where they will do the same thing, send me a DS2 replacement without a prescription if I opt for the the auto to be set to the default (as jtravel mentioned above).

They definitely can't replace the System Ones with a new System One, but you can get that small amount of money you mentioned, or you can get a DS2 replacement.

I just got an email asking me to update my info on the patient portal but the patient portal fails to contact their servers every time I try to enter the information. It is so frustrating.

I'm happy that one of my two machines is being replaced in the next couple of days, I think with a DS2. That's great! Can't believe it is finally happening. Still waiting on the other machine.

Must get a new sleep study
Medicare does NOT require a new sleep study. Talk to your insurance company. If they tell you a new sleep study is required, ask to speak to a supervisor.
I have a Medicare Advantage plan. They are the ones who require a new sleep study. So you're saying Medicare themselves don't require it? I need to look into this.

FYI: The kickback for unnecessary sleep studies can buy some nice toyz.
And the patient can be stuck with any non-covered expenses.

What CPAPer wants to spend a night suffering without their CPAP?

I didn't see this option at all so will try again when I get back home and input that serial number again.

I got a new Email from them telling me what you said but I went onto the site and it was having trouble accessing their server was the message that kept coming up. Will try tomorrow and will choose the autoset option as that is what my machine was set at by me at 7 min to 20 maximum and don't want to bother with getting a copy of my prescription. My machine only has 8325 blower hours while my Air sense 10 has 10325 run hours. Want to get that Dream Station as a backup or see how it works for me.

I FINALLY GOT MY NEW MACHINES!!!!!

It took about 14 months, but I am very happy now that I received 2 Dreamstation 2’s! Already sent my others back and used it last night. My AHI was 17, so I have to work on that. I would say I made out pretty good considering at one point they were offering something like $5! LOL.

Would you like to share your ideas/concerns/experiences with the Dutch press?

Hello CPAP-community

This is a message from Merijn Rengers, investigative journalist for Dutch newspaper NRC. I am a newly registered user of your forum. I registered after scrolling through some of the topics, in which I found better, more accurate and more honest stories and information on the Philips/Respironics recall-case than anywhere else – on all the relevant issues. I also read about questions and ideas that live in your community that have not (yet) reached the executives/the press/the regulators.

Therefore I am reaching out to the cpaptalk.com community. I hope some of you want to share your questions/ideas/experiences with NRC. In case you have never heard of the newspaper I work for: we are one of the largest in the Netherlands and almost all Philips Executives in the Netherlands (Philips is a Dutch company) have a subscription. In fact our newspaper is less than a mile away from the Philips headquarters in Amsterdam.

I am currently working on an extensive reconstruction of what has happened before and after the recall in the US and the consequences it has had (and still has) for the CPAP-community – both from a Dutch and an American perspective. I can be reached through my profile on cpaptalk.com or via email on M.Rengers@nrc.nl.

Thanks already!

I am glad some continue to have success with them so still a chance. Registered at beginning of recall with DS1. I have had my status changed to "Action needed: Prescription Setting Needed for Remediation" beginning of January and gone through the listed 888-511-2797 number only to be told I am still not in the call center list, they will call when a batch with my info is received from Philips :(

My machine "coincidentally" stopped uploading via the modem to Philips on 1/1/2023 (now shows fail 1 when manually tried) and the mobile app refuses to connect to my bluetooth. Took the card and uploaded my data via the Philips windows app which updated my graphs but status remains the same.
