Just came here for some random info, and low and behold I see two of my favorite old friends from back in the day----Wulfman (Den) and Laura (rested gal)! Made my day! Laura and Den are two of the smartest, caring, helpful people on the planet-----pioneers of this website and great friends from the start! They have helped many, many people on this site and still do! So happy to see them again!

You're BACK! (I hope).

Reading so many of your posts helped me greatly when I was getting started, and Pugsy has talked about you many times when we were chatting.

So good to see you posting again.

As all have said, it's a personal thing. When I started 3 years ago, I cleaned mask and water chamber daily! I even cleaned the hose once...that was all it took. Hasn't been cleaned since. It's filtered air that goes through it! From my room, not from me. That doesn't need cleaning as far as I'm concerned. I did get to where I just cleaned the mask every few days or used a baby wipe when I thought of it and that worked fine for me.

Now I use the Bleep, so no cleaning required. And I top off my water chamber daily with distilled water, wash it out every few weeks. That's it for me. Hubby, on the other hand, does absolutely NOTHING! Nada. Zilch. He uses a P10, no humidification. And he gets forever out of ONE pillow. I don't know how he does it! Different strokes...

I have a box of generic Kirkland baby wipes next to my bed, so I usually wipe my cushion once a day, sometimes once every 2 days and wipe the whole mask probably once a week; I never cleaned the headstrap (but usually end-up replacing it every 4-6 months as it stretches); the humidifier chamber I clean probably once every 2-3 weeks otherwise it starts smelling a bit (and I use distilled water) and I usually wash the tubing also at the same time.

It's not necessary to clean the hose (ever, unless you see something in it).
But it’s so much FUN to clean that 6 foot long hose, especially if you have water in it, and accidentally aim it towards you! :D :D

You, madame, have a weird idea of fun!
My current cleaner is "Little Journey" fragrance free baby wipes from Aldi.

Mask: wash every day with unscented liquid soap and water, especially to get the oils off the seal and get the smells off the inside. But I like the idea of unscented/antibacterial baby wipes.

Tube: every other day or so by placing the connection tube over the faucet filter. Just run some warm water through it. OK this is probably overkill. But it is easy and fast to do.

Humidifier: empty the water and let it dry. using distilled water. Microbes need water/humidity to grow.

Head gear: rarely; when it looks like it needs it.

Baby wipe on pillows, when/IF needed.
Change pillows and filter @3 weeks.
Wash tank when biology happens inside.
Dust where indicated--when observed.
Learn to life with slight imperfections--as I am one, as well.

I am one of the germophobes who was cleaning every day due to autoimmune issues. 2 years in, I clean it when I remember usually when one of these threads comes about. Lol. I do still dump the humidifer water fairly frequently. I just dump it every few days let the tank dry and then fill it up again at night. It keeps it from getting slimy and yes I use distilled water because arizona water is notoriously hard.
