Elan Musk wants to convert the whole world to 21700's for their greater power density.
There is no significant difference in energy density between 21700 and 18650s.
Any measurable difference between 21700 and 18650s in energy and energy density can be attributed to level of material and electrodes.
https://iopscience.iop.org/article/10.1149/2.0281814jes
Eh? from the article:
(1)
The energy content per cell can be higher by ~50% for 21700 compared to 18650. Therefore, for certain applications, less cells have to be built and used to deliver the same amount of energy.
I've got a 26650 in one of my power banks, it's rated at 18wh, or 5ah.
Sorry, didn't mean to say "
Any measurable difference between 21700 and 18650s in energy and energy density...."
Should have been "
Any measurable difference between 21700 and 18650s energy density...."
Size does, it appears. matter.

Absolutely!
And yes, it is precisely the extra size that gives the enhanced energy, but not necessarily increased energy density.

this is the incorrect response. you're supposed to call palerider a bully.
and also that he's never helped anyone.

Ah, I read your comment as "there's no more energy per cell", not the way you were meaning what you said, so yeah, we'd agree now that I'm up with what you're saying

Hey, quit bullying him, he can't help that he's slow, he's a Canukistanian. at the current exchange rate, he's only 78% of one of us down here.

I'm sure one of the dead horse crew will be along soon enough to admonish you and dogslobber for what a horrible person I am.

I joined this forum 10 years ago and I have made a total of 67 posts up to this point. NOW I REMEMBER WHY! Just a bunch of A-HOLES that want to argue instead of actually offering each other helpful advice. Good bye, maybe I will try again in another 10 years.

What, exactly, have you added to any thread?
Out of 7081 Posts Show 3 where you help or speak to the OP - alright then 2.

huh?
intelligent folk offering discussion about what you brought up is arguing?
would it be better if we all just nodded along with what you have to say? how does anything useful become accomplished that way?
this forum is, as far as i'm concerned, based on the exchange of ideas. that is, when we aren't helping newbies with their cpap problems.
i'm really puzzled by your attitude.

Sigh....
To the OP (if you come back) ....these guys weren't arguing or fighting....they were having a little fun. Teasing each other with their banter.
Trust me...it wasn't anything but a bit of having some fun with each other at least until you misunderstood their banter....and then someone else decided to chime in an nit pick what someone said and attack someone else.
Yes...the banter was off topic but it was harmless until you got your feelings hurt.
It was harmless until someone decided to personally attack someone else...that would be SG sticking his noise in again to personally attack someone for what he thinks is a poor post that isn't helping and can't see the fact that he isn't helping either.
Now it will just become another pissing contest of personal attacks and I am not in the mood for this crap.
Thread is now locked.
Have a nice day everyone.
