And, after all this, we need to remember that data collected by the machine is
NOT INTENDED FOR HOME USE,
and the programmers may have been instructed to futz it up--just to yank us around.
I would not put it past them.

fwiw I PMd chrisj on Apr 07 but he has yet to pick up the PM yet. So I'm thinking the welcome committee has scared him away?

That is a distinct possibility. I'm sorry I didn't see the question earlier and been able to respond before the thread diverged from the original question.
