I, too, cleaned my heated hose once. Biggest pain in the you-know-what! Never again! That was back a few years ago when I was a newbie. I also washed my mask and humidifier every day. (I do admit to being a bit obsessive.) I switched to the Bleep as soon as it came out so mask cleaning is no longer an issue. As far as the humidifier, I dump the water and let it dry every couple of days (I do use distilled water), and wash with soap and HOT water occasionally, when I think about it. And I do change the filter regularly. That's it.
Hubby, on the other hand, does absoutely nothing, except change the filter, which he started doing after I started using CPAP 3 years ago! He uses the panel rather than the humidifier, unheated hose, and the P10 mask. He's been on CPAP for about 15 years, I think, and no ill effects. I couldn't do that, but whatever floats your boat, I guess.
