They have lowered the age to 55 in my state and are now classifying me as an essential worker. They are going to be at my work tomorrow with the J&J single dose. I did not sign up for it but have a feeling they will be pushing it on those of us who didn't sign up. They are already talking about adding Friday too. Anyone know if the j & j vaccine is any safer for those of us who have severe allergic responses to things ?
Have a look at

In general, yes there is still a danger, but it all depends on what you reacted to.
*sigh*. It is so frustrating. I react to everything and nothing depending on when they do the tests and if I'm in a flair or not. I have autoimmune urticaria (hives) and angioedema (soft tissue swelling). When I react, Its bad, face, lips, eyes and even the bottom of my feet. I am terrified of it triggering.
Thank you for the link.

Do you have a doctor (an immunologist) that manages that specific aspect of your care? I would suggest consulting one, finding out if/when/where you should get a vaccine (and which, for that matter), and whether there's some things you should do ahead of time.
I know angioedema is no joke

I had the second shot Sunday and now have fever blisters on my mouth. Do you think that could be a side effect of the vaccine?

Which vaccine did you get?
There are some reports of fever blisters after a Moderna vaccination.
Do you have a history of fever blisters?

I had the Pfizer vaccine. I have a long history of fever blisters. I get them at times of stress, illness, injury, and even from the sun. Never had them from flu shot or other vaccines.

It might just be a coincidence.
There were reports of people getting Bell's palsy. When enough data was available, it was seen that people who were vaccinated had a lower incidence of Bell's palsy than people who had not yet been vaccinated.
I'm sorry you are afflicted with fever blisters. I've heard they are painful.

I got my first dose of the Pfizer vaccine yesterday; 24 hours later - no issues whatsoever. Not even soreness in the injection site. I must note, I started moving (exercising it) immediately after the injection. Looking at it, you cannot identify the place where the shot was made - no redness, no swelling, no visible hole - nothing. If I focus real hard, I could imagine I could feel something in the shoulder last night, but nothing worth mentioning. No other symptoms whatsoever. Looking forward to the next dose three weeks from now.
As always, YMMV! My daughter got it, too (frontline worker), and she had the bad luck (or was it being afraid and having shoulder muscles flexed?) of having some bruising on the injection site during her first dose, but she had no other symptoms. So far - so good!

Fever blisters, AKA cold sores are caused by a virus.
Ask your doctor for a prescription for valacyclovir.
I have had these sores since I was TEN.
They are controllable.

Got my first shot of AstraZeneca on Feb 26. No soreness in the injection site, only some joints pain the next two days. I also felt like having a light fever while I actually had none. Now waiting 10 more weeks for the second shot.

Got the second dose of Moderna few days ago. Fine, except for a feeling of low-grade fever, probably psychosomatic, and a sore shoulder for a couple of days. Nothing that interrupted my usual activities. Makes me wonder about my immune system, but hopefully my body now knows how to make coronavirus antibodies *smile*.

I'm hearing about half of us that got the shot called out sick. Over 18 in my department. They did let the rest of us go home without an occurrence (marks against us for calling out sick).
I'm going to take a couple of Tylenol and head to bed.

>Have you had a COVID-19 Vaccine or have an appt?
Absolutely not. Our family has suffered enough because of vaccines. Nephew got his shots (not covid) and had seizures/coma that evening. Three dogs got their shots and it caused them to go deaf. I've been hospitilized for severe anaphylaxis before. So I say enough carnage. If it's really safe, why are manufacturers given legal immunity?

Are you still having trouble getting it ? Arizona seems to have plenty. They have lowered the age to 55 expanded the definition of essential worker and many companies are bribing workers to take the shot. My daughter here in Arizona just got her first shot today. Her company paid her to take it. Against my better judgement I got roped into it yesterday at work as everyone who wanted one had already had them and they had leftovers that they didn't want to go to waste. Wish I passed.
