My experience is contrary to everything and everyone would recommend but in my situation is was simply not being tight enough. I had to tighten mine more than videos and what people said you should. Not tight enough to be uncomfortable but more than. You think it should be.

Not saying that's right or wrong, but my mask was leaking nonstop until I really tightened it up. Also make sure you wash your face right before bed and wash the mask daily.
There's nothing wrong with that per se, but most people would find that rather uncomfortable. If it works for you, that's great.

Not knowing gender I will make the general observation that facial hair can really impede a seal (I know, see my picture). Also, if your facial shape is different enough from the mask's design you're going to definitely struggle to get a good seal.

I will add that in my experience I found myself over-tightening masks when I should have been replacing the silicone.

Another thing to remember is that sometimes it does not matter how perfectly you have adjusted the mask while you are sitting up. Once you lie down, your (at least MY) facial contours change, altering (sometimes significantly) the fit of the mask! Be sure to test the fit lying in your usual sleeping position(s) as well.

Indeed. I usually tilt my chin to my chest to make sure it doesn't leak. If it doesn't the next thing I do is slightly open and close my mouth. If it passes those it generally lasts me the night.
