I changed it from 4 to 6 - do you mean I should try raising it even more?

I noticed I had a dry mouth this morning - unfortunately I forgot to put the SIM card back in the machine last night.
I'll ask my partner if I'm breathing through the mouth

the machine's sleep report had 2 green smily faces though, and it reported that I spent 8.30 hours with the mask on.

what are the opinions on the myAir website reports? are they trustworthy?

that was one of the reasons I upgraded my machine
If you put the sd card back in the machine will update with most of the data that accumulated while the card was out.

I did suggest you bump it from 6, yes. My idea was that as the pressure increases you are awakening from insufficient treatment until you unconsciously remove it.

I also think that as the pressure grows the mask may be leaking. Towards that I suggest you set the machine to its maximum pressure, turn it on and work out any leaks. When you've done that return the settings to normal.

I am not sure what pressure the mask fit process uses for a pressure...

You're getting a lot of interest in helping you. Listen to them. There's a lot of experience here.

Lastly, be patient even if you are at wits end. This is a process and there is no quick fix.

thanks for the suggestions, I managed to keep the mask on for 8 hours last night.
I checked the filter and it was grey, and actually I can't remember the last time I replaced it. So I did that.

I checked the Resmed website for instructions on replacing parts and it says to replace the tubing and headgear every 3 months!?

What do people here recommend? every 3 months would cost me a fortune

But the dealer won't make any money if you don't buy new equipment every day (oops, every month or whatever)!

It's nonsense of course and a lot of us have had the same hoses for YEARS! The headgear - change it when it needs changing, not when they try to push you to buy it.

And think of the landfills being full of plastic and discarded junk!

You know what's funny. All the manufacturers suggest replacing equipment (masks, hoses, etc) on a schedule that exactly matches Medicare's equipment replacement allowance schedule. Most insurance companies use that same Medicare schedule. ...
It's a cash cow for the equipment manufacturers...that's how they make money.

The equipment will last a LOT longer than 3 months with common sense care. I had one heated hose that had over 15,000 hours on it and only retired it because I got a different machine and it wouldn't work with the new machine.

It is a good idea to have a spare hose or mask or such just in case something happens on the weekend and there's no way to get a replacement but other than that there is no need for such frequent replacement of anything. You replace it if it gets damaged and becomes unusable. Heck, even a hose that gets torn can be short term repaired with some tape.

Now the cushions for the masks...nasal or pillows or even full face mask cushions...they might not last as long. It all depends on facial oils and maybe someone's particular cleaning/washing schedule. I have used nasal pillows for months and months...and it's suggested that they be replaced twice a month. Now there are a few people who can't get months and months out of something for various reasons but for the most part....people don't replace their equipment anywhere near the allowed time frame.

Headgear stretches out over time...or breaks or something that makes it unusable.
But with common sense care many people can get years out of the headgear.
The plastic part of mask frames....unless you break it...it won't ever fail.

And you don't have to buy a whole mask if something breaks...often you can just buy a replacement part for whatever broke.

My wife and I can get our supplies with no out of pocket cost, but we try to use things as long as we can. My hose is over 4 years old, the water reservoir is over 5 years old, and the mask cushions we are using are over 9 months old. The old ones were over a year old when I changed them. They were still usable, but mine was stained pretty badly, and we had spare cushions, so I changed both of them at the same time.
