Don't dwell on what was too much pressure earlier.

What was "a lot" of pressure in our first few days of therapy, becomes very manageable as we become accustomed to it. So long as we convince ourselves that it was too high, we'll never get past it.
Take advantage of ramp
Move up in small increments
Stay at the interim levels for a few days
When moving up, make the change in the morning. You might forget you've changed it and it's not on your mind laying their awake.

I received my first APAP just prior to a trip to Colorado for some skiing a couple of years ago with the grandchildren (I watched - too old). I questioned my DME about how the ski lodge elevation of 9,200' would impact the performance or what changes I would need to perform if any. My pressure is fixed at 7.0cm. She had zero clue, but checked with Respironics and their engineering support said 9,200' would be no problem and the unit would work just the same as at sea level from my perspective. They did not say what the maximum altitude was before it was too high for the unit. I can say that it worked perfectly normal from my perspective at 9,200'.
