Questions:
It shows no CA's, where previously I had many. Can it still detect a CA with no flex exhale on?
Yes. The machine can still detect CA/Central apneas with or without Flex being used. If you had any per the machine's algorithm...they would have been flagged.
Using exhale relief or not using exhale relief doesn't affect the sensing of apnea events or category classification of those events.

Ok, makes sense. If what occurred last night continues, that's a huge step forward for me.
Before I fell a sleep, which took a long time, I could feel the variability of the pressure, but the timing was wrong, making it less natural to breath in.
Thanks

That doesn't surprise me....that's what Flex does...it's actually more of a timing issue than an actual reduction in pressure during exhale that offers the "natural" feeling. The timing thing is what gets in sync with a person's own breathing rhythm or pattern or actually the body perceives as being in sync since the machine just responds to the force of our own breathing to adjust the reduction and timing of the reduction. The body learns to adapt or adjust and accept the new normal way of doing things which includes the timing of any changes.
I have always said that Flex exhale relief is more about timing of the drop during exhale than it is about the actual drop.
I learned that a long time ago when I was using Respironics machines.
