Re: Do I have UARS?

I've been using the VAuto for a couple weeks with no real success yet. Still very tired. I have a couple ideas on what to try like running in S mode with comfort breathing turned off, that removes the FOT? That detects apneas that wakes up some people. I also need to experiment more with humidity.

I think the pressure is too low at <5. try starting at 7-8 (personally I like fixed pressure with EPR 1-2 even with a biPAP), and then go up gradually if you could tolerate it.

Have not used my BiPAP in a while since I noticed no improvement in fatigue. I've been tested for Vitamin D, B12 and full thyroid panel. All normal. I'm 36, 150lbs and 5'11". Fatigue started 6 years ago and has gotten worse over time. It is very bad now. I have the bad fatigue, brain fog, tired eyes, heavy cheeks. The fatigue is worse in the morning but is still constant. I don't know what else to do or what it could be. Al blood work has been normal and normal blood pressure. Not diabetic or anything either.

I just have this one for now. I was told that my CAs do not look like they are treatment induced.

Any thoughts on if a low amount of central apneas like this can cause chronic fatigue?

Highly doubtful... much more likely is your low min. pressure setting... I'd bump it by 1-2 for a few days and see if that helps.

To follow up on Julie's post, could you say something about how you arrived at these settings? Many adults feel air-starved with IPAP below 6 or 7; is that any kind of issue for you? I also note that unless you need very high pressures, the main value of a bi-level machine is in its capacity to provide more pressure support than standard machines. But you are using just a tiny amount of pressure support.

About the CAs: could you zoom in on them to check the flow rate graph? You want to see whether they are preceded by a flurry of deeper inhalation and exhalation, which would indicate an arousal. I'm attaching an example.

unless we see your data, we can't do anything but guess.

please post some data from oscar that we can read.

Well I've seen that most people with UARS do best with bilevel. I think I have UARS because I have most of the symptoms. Low AHI, daytime fatigue, bruxism, anxiety, digestion issues, reflux, headaches, not overweight, wake up atleast once a night.

Some of these symptoms can be indicative of Celiac disease.
