It may also be a time to be wary of buying used machines from Craigslist. You would not want a machine that was recently used my an infected person.
New filter, maybe a new water chamber and hose...and I would be okay with it with maybe some extra wiping down and letting the machine sit for a couple of weeks as an extra precaution.
Any risk would mainly be the face to face exchange if that is what someone is doing.
You actually might want to let it sit at least a month. It has been detected on hard surfaces after 17 days,

Yeah, I read about that which is why I said we don't really know for sure how long this stuff lasts on inanimate objects.
I personally would be good with a really good wipe down of the machine itself and changing the filters...for the machine ....if I had no other machine to use.
I would use my own masks, hoses and filters though...the water chamber could be disinfected easily enough though if I didn't have a new replacement handy.
So for me...if I was getting a machine off craigslist because my machine had up and died and if I had a choice between that machine or no machine.....I would use it.
I would clean the hell out of it though.

I would let it run outside for all day probably but then I do that with a used machine anyway...always have.
Obviously if just buying a spare to have on hand and we have a working machine we have the luxury of letting it sit unused for quite some time.

Viviana from CPAP.com was able to change the order so it's the "for her" model. May as well set myself up for the most options possible for the next five years...
Thanks, prodigyplace!

The “for Her” model just adds another mode that some guys like too. Most people here recommend getting that model if you can.

I have used both modes on the AutoSet for Her machine.
I wanted to test the results and see what it was like. I can see pros and cons to using the for Her mode for sure but what I saw wasn't necessarily just something women could benefit from. Anyone could benefit from that for Her mode...
ResMed shot themselves in the foot target marketing women for that mode. How it works could just as easily be of benefit for the guys as well.

I am a little surprised they do not get charged as being sexist.

I don't know... There's been a lot of flak given in the medical research industry about how most research is done on men. This may be a back-pendulum-swing in response to that consideration. Unfortunately, too little too late, perhaps. Damned if you do or don't, eh?

Big Pharma--what do you expect?
"Unethical" to risk tests on children, babies, and any person with the slightest chance of pregnancy.
(((Women)))
We end up with medicine tested only on men, with man-sized dosage,
and hormonal interactions completely unknown.
Uterii are just too troublesome to bother with.
But some nitwit gets the idea to paint it pink, and everything is okey-dokey.

Yep.
It doesn't have to be that way.

I found the color pink that ResMed used....offensive but I know why they did it...it was rolled out for sale as part of breast cancer awareness week. It was an ugly pink though.

Why not the blue for prostate cancer awareness then?

Beats me....do they even do a big deal week thing for prostate cancer awareness week? I haven't ever heard of one.
Maybe you guys are getting the short straw for a change.

Not sure about a week but there is a month. For those of us who are survivors it is no joke.
