I was a hoarder before all this started so luckily I'm good. I have 15 turkeys in the freezer.

I could just move them into one of the other freezers. I bought a new freezer earlier in the week too so I got 4 running now.

I could have too, except I could no longer go down the basement stairs, I had iwo freezers running and one stand-by. Just got caught, should be a requirement for monitoring with bluetooth, built in, also on fridge too. I don't need a smart house, I need a smarter house and robots. That Beef was costly, now the store is costly, and the quality is poorer. Jim

I got caught twice in freezer Roulette, the first time was my fault, I installed a pad lock and drilled into the tubing, didn't notice the small leak until a week later, my bad. The electric bill is much cheaper than paying for the rotten meat. If you don't open a good chest freezer they don't run much, less than the fridge.

This is why the old-timers made jerky--lots of it.
Makes doggone good chili.

Not really no I have 3 generators just in case. I'm in Canada on acreage so it's pretty standard to have this kind of stuff.

Cheap electric here. Maybe 300$ month for everything I run. I run lots of stuff.

Probably in deference to the Mormons.
LDS members are expected to have a "larder", a years supply for everyone in the house.
This is so they are not a burden to others in an emergency.
Companies in Utah and Montana sell FD and dehydrated, shelf-stable food to anyone.
Check out Honeyville or Auguson, among others.

Luckily!

I stockpiled way before this happened though lol!

I don't really blame people for hoarding now either, personally I think its a good idea.

I'm sure in a few weeks most people who go to grocery store and going to get sick from going there.

??? why would you say that? people who take precautions are going to reduce their risk of getting the covid-19 virus. but getting in and out of the grocery store, refraining from contact, washing your damned hands and so forth is going to go a long way to help flatten the curve.
