Actually in OT threads....it is acceptable to post just about anything as long as it doesn't violate the terms of agreement.
I get that and don't get me wrong, I'm not suggesting we change it.
I guess my point was more, "just because we can doesn't always mean we should". Those are the topics where folks should pause and consider "why" they feel compelled to post something. Politics and religion have a way of going from promoting -to- poking fun -to- hot emotions and damaged friendships, even if unintended. It's like the Hatfields and McCoys, blue vs red. I've managed to maintain my friendships "across the aisle" by not engaging the topics directly, but I've personally witnessed other friendships sour. It's pathetic, sad and never fun to watch. I just keep my fingers crossed that the posts fizzle out before it escalates to that level.
Wish us luck!

So true but then again we have had some really nasty pissing contests happen in a thread about whether or not to use distilled water or tap water in our humidifiers.
The forum owner knows this and allows it and thus unless some blatant violation of the terms of agreement happens...I can't do much.
He allows OT topics even ugly OT topics or OT topics that will likely push a lot of hot buttons and generate "heated" discussions.
He pays the bills so he gets to decide what he wants to allow or not allow. You or I or anyone else do not really have any sort of say so in how he wants to run his forum. I am here as an extension of his arm though.. My personal opinions really don't matter so I rarely voice them. He doesn't care for vulgarity obviously but beyond that he is really into free speech on both sides of anything. He always hopes that everyone plays nice and will make use of the Golden Rule which obviously rarely happens but he still hopes and wants to give both sides of anything a place to voice their opinions. His sandbox...his rules or lack of.

Come on folks. Memes are supposed to be funny and/or cartoons.
Memes are supposed to make us smile or laugh.
Straight up political ads aren't memes....and they sure aren't virus related.
I guess I need to create a special thread for straight up political ads and/or discussion.
So consider it done in just a few minutes. I got something else to do right now.
Edit... here it is. Political ads or statements go here.

Schadenfreude is pleasant, even though its evil cannot be denied.

Looks like the politics has moved elsewhere. (Crossing fingers)

Substitute "chocolate", please.
Some candy is not good eaten to excess--barely passable in moderation.
Think candy corn. IMO, nasty.

I must agree, candy corn is horrible. I can't find my favorite Halloween candy any more. I like the peanut butter taffy that came wrapped in the orange and black paper. The Mary Janes are close, but not quite the same.

There was a candy store in virgina city, NV that still carried it last time I was there but that was before the pandemic. I don't know if they are still around.

Yep I sure do. Didn't realize so many candies were now MIA too. So many other products gone since the recession. Someone once told me getting old is not for sissys. Now I see what they mean.
