ResMed AirFit F30i vs. DreamWear FFMs
I would like to hear from someone who has used both of these masks. Thanks.
Re: ResMed AirFit F30i vs. DreamWear FFMs
I used the Dreamwear briefly and am currently using the F30i. The Dreamwear caused a sore on the bottom of my nose bridge(?), the F30i does not. I'd say it's the difference in the nasal opening, the F30i has that piece of silicone all the way up the center separating the nostrils, the Dreamwear has nothing but an edge right up to the bottom of the nose. For my nose (maybe not yours), it makes a difference. Nothing significant as an advantage beyond that for either one.
The F30i has become my mask, was on the F30 prior, but I prefer the top hose. It is a trade-off, because the venting of the quiet air connector on the F30 is better than the array of little holes on the F30i.

Thanks! I really like the Dreamwear, however, ... after about four nights, the edge you speak of rubs a sore under my nose.
Sorry, that bothers you. I'm guessing it won't bother me because I run a white noise machine that sounds like a mask venting.

I used the Dreamwear Medium and use the F30i (and F30) medium with no leaks or other issues.ChicagoGranny wrote: ↑Sat Feb 01, 2020 10:22 amHere is a question about correlation of sizing. The Dreamwear medium fits me well. Did you find a correlation in sizing with the F30i?
And the noise doesn't keep me up at all, it isn't that bad, but the F30 is silent. Still prefer the top hose with the noise.

For me, the main difference is the Dreamwear is considerably more comfortable than the F30's headgear. Personal opinion

I used a small frame & small cushion for my dreamwear FF, and I use the same for my F30i. so it would be the same for people wanting to convert from dreamwear FF to F30i

Thank you, Ed!
Thank you, Becca!
I plan to pick up an F30i next week. The DME will fit me, but it sounds like the medium will work since the medium Dreamwear FFM fits very well.
Re: ResMed AirFit F30i vs. DreamWear FFMs
This was exactly my question! Great thread!
I just got my CPAP machine, had it 2 days. I have an F20 mask and it is hurting my nose -- leaving a red mark on the bridge of my nose and a sore nose all day. My nose was broken years ago and the bridge is weak so I'm worried this could cause me major problems.
The CPAP vendor wants to switch the F20 out for the Dreamware. It sounds like it should be a good choice for me. I hope.

Maybe you didn't understand the thread? Based on the results so far, the newly introduced ResMed AirFit F30i FFM is preferred over the DreamWear FFM.

BTW,
make sure you are in control of mask choices. The supplier (DME) may want to push you in one direction depending on his inventory, gross margin level, relationship with the distributor and other factors which have nothing to do with what is best for YOU.

No I "got" that but they are both similar -- and my interest was in the style of the Dreamwear / F30i compared to the F20 which is causing me trouble. Please remember that I'm new to all of this!ChicagoGranny wrote: ↑Thu Feb 06, 2020 12:46 pmMaybe you didn't understand the thread? I'm watching Youtube videos on the F30i some comparing it to the Dreamwear... The big plus to the F30i seems to be the molded piece under the nose, while the Dreamwear has the tube going to the top of the head (versus the front of the mask). Really the tube on the mask doesn't bother me (on the F20) -- and I like that I can pull it out for a pitstop....
I have a few days before I see the DME so I may ask for the F30i -- and I do appreciate this thread and the whole forum.

The video you posted is the N30i not the F30i.
