Do you guys still use it? I end up being unable to breathe with like 90% nasal blockage so i mouth breathe and im not sure if that makes it tougher on my throat. I decided to take it off after 30mins of lying down but was curious what others do

I may need more pressure during a serious upper respiratory infection, but I find that positive airway pressure helps open up my sinuses during the infection. So I continue to use PAP. I keep a full-face mask in a drawer in case I have to resort to it during a cold. But I have never yet had to use it.

I haven't missed a night in over 10 years.
Open your nose, one way or another.
You know, when you were a kid, your mother probably told you to rest when you were sick, so your body could heal?
Without cpap, you don't get rest, that's
why you have it in the first place.

i never miss a night of cpap use. have found as the years continue to pass that i actually get fewer and fewer colds. i will sniffles now and then, but nothing to stop my cpap. i use nasal pillows and continue to use them.
you might want to try flonase, which is an over the counter decongestant. it really opens up the nasal passages.

I live in Central Texas and suffer from Cedar Fever (the nickname for Ashe Juniper allergy), so I use a nasal rinse, sorta like a
neti pot. It helps clear my sinuses out before hitting the sack. Then the machine pressure keeps me clear from there. This is the one I use. It took 3 or 4 tries to get used to it. I figure it also helps rinse the pollen out of my nasal cavities lessening the severity a bit.

Another thing that makes the cpap time even better is to use an antibacterial filter in the hose, it catches stuff that the hypoallergenic filters miss, my allergies are least bothersome when I'm using the cpap

If you suffer from frequent colds, be aware that most 'colds" may actually be ALLERGIES.
Treating my allergies has almost completely eliminated "colds" for me.
Allowing an allergy to beat you up weakens your immunity.

I use a FF mask when I have an URI. Occasionally my nose is so gooey and I'm sneezing so much that I have to go without, but I'll even hold the mask up to my face with my hand sometimes just to get the benefit until the next gooey sneeze (ewwww!!!!)

I tried this; but progressed to using mucinex nasal spray and a breathe right strip,
which allowed me to continue using my p10--the only mask I find comfortable.
(A nightly loratadine has convinced me that most of my "colds" were in reality allergies.)

Fortunately, colds are exceedingly rare for me--used to be 6 - 10 times a year before CPAP and keto, then 1 time every few years. Last year I had 1 cold turning into two bouts of pneumonia and one of bronchitis, and this year one cold. Cheating on my diet gets me that punishment.
