This is so helpful! Thank you! Regarding the pressure, is the goal to have the red and the green lines at the same level?
No

I'm not quite clear on what the optimum picture would be for pressure. I saw a screenshot somewhere on this board where this person's red and green lines were merged and I thought, "huh". Mine sure doesn't look like that! haha!
Because it's not supposed to.
There is no "optimum picture for pressure".

Your red line is your set minimum pressure.
Your green line is your set EPR.
(EPR stands for “expiratory pressure relief.” It is a feature on some CPAP machines that allows users to adjust between three different comfort settings to alleviate feelings of breathlessness some CPAP wearers complain about.)
They will merge if what Pugsy and Dog Slobber happens.

Most of the time whatever level you set EPR (1,2,3) it will mirror your minimum pressure at that level.
That screenshot you saw, maybe was someone setting their minimum and maximum pressures at the same level to make their auto CPAP machine become a straight CPAP? Or something else? I do not know what screenshot you saw.
You are doing good.
When you do not understand something, keep on asking us.
Hopefully someone will have the right answer. Maybe me or maybe not.
First do no harm. I try.

They can merge if someone has set the EPR for ramp only and they are using ramp.
It might explain someone seeing red and green separate and then they merge.

They can also merge, if using Auto-adjusting pressure and the pressure drops to 4 cm.

You may regret saying that! Haha! I feel like I am doing better only in that every few days I don’t have the dyspnea and maybe one out of 10 days I don’t feel so exhausted that I want to lay down all day and sleep. Honestly, I feel so much more tired WITH the CPAP than without. If I didn’t snore loudly and all night and keep my husband awake, I would stop using it. Not ready for separate bedrooms yet. Lol

We normally recommend more pressure for hypopneas and obstructive apneas. More pressure will not help central apneas and may make them worse for a small percentage of the people.
When "y'all" say "more pressure" if you are having hypops and OSA's, do you mean raise the lower pressure setting or raise the upper pressure setting? TIA!

Raise the lower setting. Unless you are having problems with aerophagia, there is no reason to limit the upper pressure. Set it at 20 and let the machine do it's job.
