I have turned my tubing heat to 1 and humidity to 5. I've talked to my Doctor. His only suggestion is is stop using machine. The humidity in my house is 50%. When it goes above that my machine stops working and filter gets wet. I have no options.
A few points of clarification.
a) What is the approx temp. of the house?
b) The 50% humidity was measured inside the house, correct?
c) The filter that is getting wet is not on between the unit and the mask but rather one on the side of the unit, correct?
d) How wet is it? Dripping, moist, or something in between?
e) Given that you have max humidity and min tube heat (if I understand), are you having any rainout in the hose or mask?
f) How is your home heated? Do you regularly use a whole house humidifier?
As you noted, you are talking to your PCP. Good -- perhaps the meds drying you out can be adjusted. I am also thinking there is some level of mask leak (perhaps not enough to impair therapy but enough to blow through the water). There has also been a DIY mod for a resmed to have the tank autofill during the night. It would not work on the DS though.
Other things you could consider:
a) The spare full tank for the quick change.
b) Glass of water with a long straw (pop off the quick release, take some sips)
c) Biotene or similar spray right before bed
d) Keeping yourself more hydrated during the day
e) Mouth guard -- it may help you generate saliva.
f) Keeping leaks as low as possible
