"Via the cellular modem that's in the machine.
Think about it, if it was wifi, you'd have had to put your wifi SSID and passphrase into the cpap."
Mr. Palerider, thank you, but I am a simple man. If it sends out radio signals without my being able to hear it, it is WIFI.
NO.
There are several forms of wireless transmission in our homes.
Our cellphones use the cellular signal--same as our cpaps.
(See the big tower outside?)
Wifi is on your home internet, and public places, like McDonald's, etc.
Bluetooth is between my phone and my car, or wireless speakers.
Each type has different strength and different ranges.

You can be as simple as you like, but it is NOT wifi.
Is your cell phone "wifi"? no? neither is the *CELLULAR* radio that's in the cpap.
Does your TV work on "wifi"?
Does your am/fm radio work on "wifi"?
Nope.
none of those are "wifi".

SDS - software-defined storage
HDMI - High-Definition Multimedia Interface

EDTV - Enhanced Definition Television
IDL - Interface Definition Language
This term was created by the Wi-Fi Alliance to refer to wireless LAN products based on the IEEE 802.11a specification that operates in the 5GHz radio frequency band. However, the use of the term has been officially discontinued to avoid confusion. All 802.11-based products, whether 802.11a, 802.11b or otherwise, are now supposed to be generically referred to as Wi-Fi.

The Op continues to argue offline . . .
Still has no clue.
Insists that cpap "modems" are wifi.
My Airsense lists the internal modem as type CDMA ,
Service not listed, and signal as -51dBm.
So confusing when 40 year old terminology is borrowed for new technology.
But that is not surprising when cpap companies are involved.
Confusion is too profitable.

At the risk of being pedantic, my TV works on WiFi and Bluetooth (and Ethernet and coax). And my Cellphone defaults to WiFi calling if a network is available.
But, yes, paps are cellular radio

It doesn't receive OTA programming via wifi.

So? your cpap
does not use 802.11 anything.
But, ya know what? think what you want, you're clearly more interested in arguing than learning anything, so...
Have a nice day.
