I recommend you raise your minimum pressure to 10 and maximum to 20. Right now, your pressure is staying around 10 most of the night and you machine will only go as high as it needs to. You got up close to 13 a few times during the night, so I doubt if it will go over 13, but it will be able to do so if the machine thinks it needs to do so.
I'm still pretty new to this. I didn't want to make many changes until I was more comfortable with everything. I changed the minimum to 9 several days ago. Here's my Oscar from last night. Do you still think I should go to 10 minimum? Also, I just realized I never raised the max, i'm going to do that right after I click submit.

i do, thought you weren't asking me.

see how your pressure raises up to 10 pretty quickly? that's where it wants to go anyway, so you may as well let it go there more quickly.
I guess a reply from you is OK too

That's part of the problem so far with Oscar. There's the page that tells you what information to show others when asking for help, but I haven't seen much telling new folks like me how to actually know what things on there mean.

I see that it keeps going to 10 or near 10 after 15-30 minutes, but then it creeps down. Is it going down only because the minimum is set to 9, or is going down because I don't it that high? Or both, or neither? :?

the machine wants to go back to the minimum setting. so we have to insure it goes up to a decent starting point so that when it goes back down, it doesn't go so far down as to hinder it's purpose.

as to what this all means, i suggest this-

http://www.apneaboard.com/wiki/index.ph ... rpretation

that should get you started. then, if you stumble upon some term you don't understand or a phrase that needs clarification, just ask it right here in your thread.

btw, please note that *I* don't know a bloody thing about the software. i rely heavily on the kindness of strangers. but i am starting to learn a bit more about it as i read what the experts here tell others. and the very first thing i've learned by that method is that in situations like yours, it's almost always the minimum pressure that needs raised.

hope this helps!

I wish this forum had a thanks button instead of having to post, but thanks! Hahaha.

That page led me to the flow rate page, which is leading me to other pages. As someone who loves weird data like this, this will probably use up a lot of my time that could be used for other things, and it will possibly/probably make people around me crazy. Oh well...

Yes, See how jagged the pressure line is? every time it jumps up, you're having some kind of breathing event that causes that, and those are likely disturbing your sleep. I like to see a smoother pressure line.

Just so you know, I didn't skip over either, at least originally. Like with anything, read all you want about it but until you have experience with the subject matter it doesn't mean much. I read a lot of the Newbies thread, even before my first post, but I eventually got tired of many of the links being dead. Also, at that time I didn't have Oscar, or even a machine yet. Then, as you use a forum more, eyes somehow automatically avoid the stickys. I'll definitely look through it again now since I know a little more about this now.

That's exactly what I need! Especially if I'm going to be studying charts and getting into all these never ending rabbit holes of link after link after link.

What you both are saying makes a lot of sense. I raised it to 9.8 min 17 max. I'm a very cautious person! Don't judge me!

well YOU didn't write that part, but i'm way to lazy to edit.

i try to keep in mind how much all this bullsh*t confused me when i first came in. and i'm not even the type to look for answers in analytical data. on the other hand, i'm not a wooo person either. somewhere in the middle is where i am.

anyway, glad i could help.

As Zonker said, you are still staying around 10 and higher most of the night. I still say to try 10 for a few nights and see how it goes. Your flow limits graph is still a little active and your AHI is higher than I like mine to be. However, if you are sleeping well at your present settings and feel well rested, feel free to leave it where it is now. For me, the driving factor is how I feel in the morning. As long as I feel well rested, I'm happy.

I'm not sleeping that well I don't think, but I never really have. It's been less than two weeks since I started treatment. I just want to get a good setup for now then see what happens when I stick with it for a while.

<zonker sits here, judging bob>

i don't blame you on wanting to bump things up cautiously. i'm very susceptible to aerophagia. the slightest increase in pressure can cause a lot of pain (and gas!) in my system. so i had to go through quite a process of upping pressure/lowering pressure over and over again via tiny 0.2 increments. took me months to get to my current pressure of 15.4.

palerider and some others are gung-ho to get that pressure up where it will do the best work. and that's fine.

just didn't work that way for me!
