Last night I kept the mask on all night! I did have to keep waking up to adjust it every once and a while, but I was able to sleep on my side like I would without it comfortably all night other than that.
A side note:
Something funny happened last night. I went to put on my cpap mask and some straps had come loose so I put it back together and then I noticed 2 straps had no where to go. I looked online and realized that a plastic clip was missing for them to attach to. I spent 50 minutes looking around my bedroom for the plastic clip. After 50 mins I looked at the picture of the mask online again and then I finally realized that I had the straps backwards and the 2 clips were in the same place by mistake. 50 minutes... lol
You sound like what I will be tomorrow night for my FIRST night with CPAP,
Well I can tell you for me it hasn't been an easy process, sad to say lol... But I wish you luck!

I have accepted that it will be HORRIBLE and have prepared myself to do it no matter what. My kids and husband deserve to have me around a long long time and to be healthy. That is how I am going to get through the adjustment period.

For me it was not horrible just a new normal. I would rather use a machine every night to help me sleep than have a stroke/heart attack/high blood pressure caused by my untreated sleep apnoea

Expecting it to be horrible will tend to make it more horrible than it would be otherwise.
Expectations and attitudes do factor in to experiences.
Expect your next meal to taste horrible and you won't get as much enjoyment out of it, compared to eager anticipation.
It's up to you.

That might have come across wrong. For me, if I expect something to be horrible, then when it isn't as bad as my expectations, it helps me get use to something easier. Like when preparing for surgery, I think just a cat scratch and that helps. When adjusting to this stuff on my face, I know me, a Princess and the Pea type thing, since anything on my face is a problem. Just helps me mentally prepare better. To each his own I guess.
