. . . ..ENT said it could quite possibly have to do with cpap blowing things around up there ..sometime the air can go thru ears ..
He is only guessing.
Cannot tell without an MRI, if then.
(I bet your insurance won't cover it, unless your life is in danger.)
Um, has anyone in your family had cancer?
Tell your doctor that without a definitive answer, you are worried about cancer.
That should light a fire under his lazy glutes.

You need a neurologist (who should be able to dx vertigo without an MRI) and one who knows something about apnea/cpap.

Google Meniere's disease. It is not associated with sleep apnea, but it is a common cause of vertigo.

When my CPAP pressure is too high I get BPPV. It goes away if I stop using my chin strap. I never had BPPV before I started using a strap.

Do you have noticeable stuffy nose/sinus pressure? I can get vertigo if these happen - reaction to food allergies (that sometimes sneak in unnoticed). For me, how severe the vertigo gets is related to how long (and the level of) the stuffiness/pressure has been going on.

There was a weird bug going around our city about 6 years ago that caused vertigo as a side effect. People that felt fine would wake up with severe vertigo (room spinning bad) and for me I was awake when it hit - the room all of a sudden spinning pretty fast. Weird side effect but the Drs said a lot of people were coming in with it.

Hello

Sorry for the delayed response as I have been busy and not on the site for a while. I can only tell you MY experience and hope it gives you some insight. For the first several months of cpap use, I was lightheaded almost to the point of being dizzy every morning and it tapered off by early afternoon. I went to the ENT who told me "it could not possibly be related". Additionally, my cpap doc was a little nicer and said " I never heard of it before". After I think 5 or 6 months the lightheadedness completely went away. Also, after about 8 months the problems with air in my stomach was gone and after 18 months problems with air blowing out my mouth disappeared and I did not have to tape my mouth or wear a neck brace anymore. The point is some people are more sensitive than others and it takes awhile to get used to have air blowing through your airways 6-8 hours a night. I was so depressed and discouraged for a long time using the cpap, because of all my issues. However, since I was having cognitive problems and terrible sleep which led to me being tested and diagnosed, I never stopped using the cpap and powered through it hopeful it would get better and It did!!! I don't know if you have other issues that might be contributing to your dizziness but I promise it can happen and if you stick to it, your body will adapt. :)
