This is the reason that many people have backup machines. Both for travel, and in the event that one breaks.
I have a cpap 'go bag' in the closet, ready to be grabbed and go... has a 10 foot hose, and mask and all in it.. .used it today while having work done on my arm, laying on the operating table.
what did you do to your arm?

Hope they're able to get you well again soon.
I wouldn't pick on ResMed because of a lousy local DME. Go with which ever machine you find works the best for you. Make the DME work it out if there is a problem.
First rule of electronics, if there is a problem, disconnect everything and then reconnect and work your way back checking each point of failure for loose connections or damage.
Glad your able to sleep soundly again.
