I know it's a normal sized SD card, but how many gigabytes do I need? When it's full do I just get a new SD card or reformat it?

Get the cheapest you can find anything over 2GB to 32gb the machine should cleanup old files a 2GB will hold over a years data you will prob find 16GB the cheapest currently.

I have found sd cards in old $2 cameras at Goodwill.
