If it makes you happy, then use distilled. It's fine, and not very inconvenient or expensive.

But tap water is just fine, too. As long as it's potable (drinkable).
I use both. It's just not an issue for me. If I have it, I use distilled. If not, I swish any debris away in the morning. Life's too short...
