So sorry to hear that your having such a tough time, seemed like you were doing so well recovering from the septoplasty. In fact I was a bit jealous, as you were able to get back on the nasal interface so fast.

It goes with out saying, we're all different, and the recommendations of our doctors are going to be different, but let me tell you that my doctor insisted that I not use my PAP equipment for the first 10 days post surgery. (you may recall that my surgery was Jan 30). I'm currently in the stage where the doctor said I could TRY my hybrid (nasal pillows) after five weeks. In the meanwhile I have to use a full face that does not contact the lower portion of my nose. (I'm using a FP 431 for this stage). Also heated humidification on highest setting and plenty of saline sprays during the day. I was told to jack the house humidity up to 40% or better. And most important.... do not bump the nose!

I'm not suggesting that your instructions were incomplete, just reporting that my Dr seems very cautious.

At the risk of sounding melodramatic, You will be in my/our prayers tonight.

I don't think my Doc is too up on CPAP. As I stated, I think the lack of humidity is probably my biggest problem. The blood is coming from deep inside the nose, not anywhere around the exterior.

I do wish my Doc was more up on CPAP and could have given me better instructions.

Right now with TWO nasal tampons in my nose it is deviated again. I just hope is isn't screwed up again.

Probably the worst part is being off the hose for the first time in seven years. I feel like hammered s*&t. Also, the loss of blood has got to have an impact. When they tested my hemoglobin on Wednesday it was 13 and early Saturday morning it was 12. I have really lost a lot of blood during this ordeal.

I'll call the ENT in the morning and get in to see him in the afternoon. I'll post an update then.

Talked to Doc's office today and he wants to wait until Thursday to take nasal tampons out. Oh Boy, I get to not sleep for three more nights!

I know he is doing what he thinks is best, but I like to gripe about it.

Jeff, I hate this ordeal for you. You would at least think the doctor would want to change them out. Sounds horrible.

Gads, thru all this I sure as heck hope that septum is not deviated again like you said, Jeff!!!!

We just want you to get thru it, get back on CPAP and some real rest and be HEALTHY again!!! Can I give you some (((hugs))) w/o seeming tooo gushy or pushy??
