That looks good but you can let the filter touch those holes if you want to.
Mine looked like that for about a month.

Either way the the little edges will work just fine. Doesn't have to be perfect...main idea is to diffuse the vented air so that when it hits your arm or bed covers it won't make a noise. The venting is silent until that vented air stream hits something like an arm or the bed covers or in my case the bed pillow since I use a buckwheat hull pillow and make a little nest in the hulls for the mask to rest it...and sometimes the nest wall gets hit by the vented air.

So Zonker - this is just for your eyes only. No one else should see this
I'll post my "before" and my after, i.e. CPAP Hostage picture. Shhh...no one should see this.
You and I could be the first two pictures for "The Gallery of CPAP Hostages."
Now you may ask, "What is that woman doing with tape between her eyes?" Well I've found
that since CPAP, I wake up with frown lines on my face. (Gee I wonder why???). So that's
to help slow down the inevitable wrinkling process of old age! Barbara
whadaya talkin' about? looks perfectly normal to me!

besides, we only have to worry about our significant others seeing us. and obviously, your SO doesn't seemed bothered by it.

we do what we gotta do to get that elusive good night's sleep!
Well thank you! I'm glad I look normal :-). No more SO anymore, don't even have a kitty any more. So I don't have to worry about frightening man or beast in the middle of the night - ha!

Geez Louise! The things you all have had to figure out and mess with to get this and others to work! I'm glad for your inventiveness and knowledge. How did you get so smart about all this? Are you a physician or sleep tech or nurse or ???? You really know your stuff!
No need to answer that tonight. We probably need to go to bed!!! Well I'm off to pile more stuff on my head and face! :D We need an emoji for that...Thank you as always. I am armed with info for another night for another experiment. I am starting to feel like Dr. Frankenstein's experiment.

She wants to see if the new setup will work well with the Bleep because she likes using the Bleep.
I see no sense in waiting....I would do the same thing I advised...scratch that curiosity itch immediately.
She can always go back to something else later.
Certainly! The leak line does need work too. It was a misplaced spot to try to work in a "funny". Failed in multiple ways.

@bjhunt01 - I'm a HUGE advocate of the bleep. Hopefully you've been reading enough around here to have noticed. Better than sliced bread. by all means- switch to the bleep.
Funnies are always welcome for some much needed comic relief for all of us CPAP hostages!
Thanks, but there's a time and place for it. Looked like I was questioning Pugsy's advice.

And for the record, if I tell you to do something and Pugsy tells you to do something else - do what Pugsy says. I've only been here for a year or so.

I may make the above my signature line.

  Actually I didn't really take it that way....that you were questioning me (which btw people are more than free to do) and unfortunately I missed the "making a funny" part.
Sometimes I simply don't have much of a sense of humor and I miss people making a funny. Or sometimes I just can't tell...is this person just making a joke or do they really feel this way. I flunked mind reading 101 in college.
I have said some things that people get their panties all in a wad over and I was trying to be cute and make a funny but it got took all the wrong way.
It's very hard to see the smiles behind the words.
I didn't see your smile behind the words.....but I didn't really have a problem with your words even if you hadn't been making a funny.

In truth we probably shouldn't be experimenting too quickly and I am always normally the one to say "don't rush your experiments...repeat and verify before another change is made" unless the results are horrible and I see no sense in repeating horrible results or risking doing so.
In truth I don't always practice what I preach. And I can certainly see where there are situations where curiosity simply outweighs scientific logic.

I don't mind people sharing ideas different from mine....I really don't unless I think the idea is potentially dangerous.
I don't walk on water and sometimes a different point of view needs to be taken...I can't always think of everything and I do miss stuff.
Sometimes a different pair of eyes looking at something is needed to maybe come up with another plan. Nothing wrong with that at all.

And unfortunately I don't always see the smile behind the words....  I tend to be "all business" sometimes and my sense of humor simply didn't make the business trip.

But I didn't mean to sound like I was calling you on the carpet for what you said...which is why I didn't quote you. Nothing wrong with what you said even if you hadn't been making a funny.
I simply offered another way of looking at things...and when I do that in threads it doesn't mean that I have a problem with what someone has said...just means I am offering a different way of looking at things.
We have another forum member her who just hates it when I come in and do that...they take it as a personal attack on them and I don't mean it that way at all but I can't seem to get that person to understand that adding something or saying something even if it is the same thing means that I have a problem with what they said.

So carry on making funnies even if I miss them. The forum does need them....this stuff gets all too much work and making funnies makes the work easier to swallow.
Sometimes we just need to smile.

Well C*** if ya know what I mean...here is last night's screen.

A major fail in the Scunci department. And here I thought the guardian angel of CPAP hostages was finally shining down on me. Looks like the knitted cap didn't keep them from slipping. I may try a cactus on my head tonight. A very noisy SnoreLab with mouth noises and I do remember waking up several times to some kind of noise and having to adjust the Scunci that goes on my mouth. It worked SO WELL the night I used a nasal mask with straps. The straps kept them from slipping. Or else after 2 nights they've already stretched out. I'm so bummed. BUT HEY I HAVE GREAT NUMBERS!!!! I may go put some Kahlua in my coffee. Have to go to a Dr's. appointment so it will be awhile before I can come back and read any suggestions. Good news: only woke up once to go to the bathroom so I am not waking up a lot except for adjustments...well I guess that does count.

Thanks Pugsy - your post did make me re-read mine, and of course switching to the Bleep was really the best course of action. And I made a funny (jury still deliberating) that suggested otherwise. I still don't think that's cool.

A major fail in the Scunci department.
When I was wearing scunci, I'd cut ear holes to anchor it. I don't understand how it could stay put otherwise. I've seen plenty of members state that they don't, and it's working for them. Maybe it's because I have very little hair, and what I do have is clipped close. Maybe it's because I'm not as creative as they are.

Something to consider.

-djams you want me to shave my head is that the point?
-Zonker - bobby pins - clearly you are not a girl. They would not keep the Scunci in place. Unless I used about 40 of
them which would defeat the goal of not having stuff all over my head that hurts to lay on.
-One of you said when you cut ear holes, it hurt your ears.
-I'd like to buy 2 consonants after that vowel.
-So I'm going to try a slightly rougher on the outside cap tonight and a little tape but not like I did before because
it caused my face to bleed after a few days - and still do the Scunci's.
I have a Sleep number bed so I will also sleep a bit elevated.

Now I am going to have my Kahlua and watch the Democrats debate.

Thank you all for your silliness - I needed that! :D
